Default What Was the Final Game Released on Each System?

Ok, first off, here are the qualifiers:

    1. I'm only talking about the U.S. Market

    2. I'm talking about retail releases that were sent to a wide variety of retail locations. Like K-Mart, Toys R Us etc, etc.

    3. Prototypes, bootlegs and all that type of stuff are excluded. Like the Dreamcast stuff that appears now. It has to be a game that was published by a real publisher, and released to the normal array of retail locations. It can't be a game that was just sold at a website or whatever.

Basically, what I'm talking about, is what were the last "REAL" game that were released for any system. Also if you could please provide the month and year that the game came out. You can of course guesstimate, the month as long as you are within a couple of months, give or take.

I would love to start this off, by giving one that I know off hand, but I actually have no clue. I'm sure some of you guys will rattle some off really quickly though.

Also, you can definitely list the final game for any system out there, but I'm most interested in the final game for these systems: NES, TurboGrafx-16 (Hu card), Genny, SNES, Sega CD, 32X, Jaguar (cart), 3DO, Saturn.

The only one that I can remember on the spot is Magic Knight Rayearth, the Saturn's last U.S. release. I think it hit shelves in November of 1998. It was originally scheduled to come out in 1996, but there was, well, a delay. A long delay.

I believe that Wario's Woods is the last official game for the NES. There was an unlicenced game released after Wario's Woods... Can't remember the name though.

I always thought Alfred Chicken was the last NES game released, but then again I'm a moron.

The last Dreamcast game was NHL 2k2 and it was released February 2002.

Other than that I have nothing.

According to IGN the last game for the N64 was Powerpuff Girls: Chemical X-Traction.

I believe Powerpuff Girls (Chemical X-Traction) was the last official release for the N64. It came out just before Christmas of 2001 if I remember correctly. There was also a Razor scooter game that came out at the same time, but it was released straight to rental.

Now, I thought the VERY last US N64 release was Activision's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, in the summer of 2002.

Which seems confirmed by this release data:

    http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/n64/data/32884.html

I also want to say the last SNES release was Sim City 2000 in 1998, but I might be wrong.

Wasn't the last Jaguar game Iron Soldier 2 in December 1997?

The last Genesis game was Frogger in 1998, published by Majesco as the only original game released with the Genesis 3.

The last Game Gear game was Super Battletank, also published by Majesco in 2001 as part of the Game Gear budget re-release.

I THINK the last Nuon game was Space Invaders XL in June 2001, published by VM Labs.

Other systems I know, Virtual Boy - Tetris 3D

BTW, Virtual Boy is a system that Nintendo would like to forget, you have to look very hard to find the 2 words in the website.

    http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/oldergames.jsp

According to the website, the last SNES game is Zoop, in Jan 2000 by Majesco, but before that, the 2 last releases are Kirby's Dreamland, Arkanoid, Space Invader and Timon and Pumbaa back in Nov 1997, NHL 98 in Dec 97, and NHL 98 in March 98, most done by THQ.

Joe, I own a copy of NHL '98 for the Genesis. It's release date is at least a year after 3/4/95

You're definitely right about that. I'm sure even Madden '98 and NBA Live '98 came out after that DATE. I'm wondering if my date for Frogger is wrong, because IIRC it was the last one released. If anyone can confirm the Genny release date for Frogger, please post it here. In the meantime I've made the change on my side.

    Ah, here we go.

06/01/98 seems right. I'm sure it was after the EA sports '98 titles.

Zoop came out for the SNES in 2000? I saw reviews for it in game magazines long before that; if it came out that late, it was sitting on the shelf for a long time. I thought the last US SNES game was also Frogger.

    How about the Colecovision?

The last game for the Famicom was Takahashi Meijin No Boken Jima IV, the fourth game in what we know of as the Adventure Island series. This was, of course, unreleased in the US.
