    Default Problems with retrogames store

Has anyone had any problems with "retrogames"?

These are the guys that fix turbo duo sytems and they claim
to sell them on their site

    I sent them $ 154 on August 28

They accepted the paypal money and thats the last i have
    heard from them

I have sent many emails requesting a refund and i am
    getting no response

Paypal won't help me because its been over 30 days

luckily, American Express is looking into it

anyway, have any of you had a simular experiance?

I can't find the website you are talking about, but try calling them. If they don't list a number, run their domain name through a whois.

tucows.com will usually spit out the registration information for a domain, which is REQUIRED to be accurate by the icann committee. You should be able to get their phone number that way. If the info is incorrect, you can just report them, and they should get shut down if they don't comply

    http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/1424/

this is the address. I found it by doing a web search typing turboduo

Their phone number is on the web site but a machine
answers and they won't return my calls

I have never heard of icann committee

    what do they do?

Ack. There is your first problem. Never buy something from an unknown party off of a free website provider.

ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Basically, they control what IP addresses and domain names are registered to whom. They also set forth the rules and regulations that these need to operate by.

A whois won't help you here, because the domain name is geocities.com, and its highly likely that this guy doesn't own geocities.

You can always try to look up this guy's info on the web portfolio's, but if he is any bit smart, he put in a fake address/name.

Pretty much the only thing you can do is hope AMEX follows through for you. Oh, and uh, file a mail fraud complaint. If he gets enough of those, he could be in big trouble. Its on the USPS website some where (I think).

I knew I've heard of them before. It's a shame that you're having a problem like this, yet TZD, a good company, recommends them for repairs.

I dealt with them before and I didn't have any problems. However who knows if there was change of management/owners/etc. that can throw things off.

I hopped onto Archive.org to see if there are any alternate numbers. Perhaps there may be a redirect that will get you to a human. They used to have (480) 821-5070. Or your could try TurboZone and see if they have alternate numbers for this place.

    Good luck!
