Vectrex Minestorm L13 Bug, etc.

I just got my second Vectrex, this one is a Canadian one, so it doesn't have the level 13 bug in it. It loads up with the Vectrex splash screen when you turn it on.. rather than the CGE Entertaining New Ideas one. I have another Vectrex in storage, and I swear that Minestorm was harder on that one. I could never get to level 16, like I did tonight.

Is there any good information lying around on what Vectrex models had which splash screen, which version of Minestorm and the differences between them. I tried to wade through the Newsgroups to find some info, but it's all just talk about serial numbers, and it's hard to find some reliable information. There was even an attempt to figure it out in a questionnaire.

Here's that questionnaire (from 1995!):

Any idea what happened to this? Anyone have some good info on what is different about when the ROM was changed, and the differences between the versions of Minestorm? Any info would be appreciated.

My vectrex has a flaky controller, I could never make it to level 13 on Minestorm.
