    Default PS2 Import Solutions

    Hey People-
Your old friend RCM here. I have never imported anything for the PS2. I am planning on picking up a few of the Sega 3D Ages collection and need to convert my ps2. I was wondering what my options were. I am not a fan of MOD chips or the fliptop thing. I was wondering if there was a disc or something designed for the PS2 that would allow me to play Japanese imports without fucking up my system. Thanks to all

Ah, yes, the Magic Slide kit. It uses the same boot discs that are normally used with the flip top lid, but in this case, you use a plastic card to disengage the tray and open it. It's not terribly risky if you know just what you're doing, but if you don't have that steady-handed dexterity, you might be safer just putting in the lid. There's also the no-solder ejector mods, but those are kind of pointless.

And the Swap Magic boot discs work great, by the way. Just get a set, pick your preferred method of changing discs without the PS2 knowing it, and you'll be ready to go.
