Default DOS Mame Help! No KB response in any DOS apps!

Ok, I've got a jpac, and am running dmame in DOS mode on my WinXP machine. Everything works fine, I've got the image coming up on my wells gardner, it looks great, I'm happy, EXCEPT; The controls don't work. I've determined that it isn't the jpac itself, because no keyboard functions work. And it's not just in Mame or ArcadeOS. Any DOS program I run (Even just edit) garners no keyboard support. I can still alt-tab out of programs, but I can't type anything in them. Has anyone else had this problem, or can they help?

Is the keyboard a USB? If so, look in the BIOS to enable USB Legacy Support. Have you tried other keyboards?

Yeah, I tried two USB and one PS/2 KB. I finally tried another computer, and I think my old mobo (a P3BF) is just too old to support what I want to do. Alas, Thanks for your help zektor.

Ok just so everyone's clear, I found the holy grail. It's right here:

    http://www.mame.how.to/

What this gives you is an ISO image for a boot CD that basically formats your computer back into a DOS machine, then tweaks dos, installs custom drivers, sets up sound, Advance MAME, ArcadeOS, and videomodes so that within 10 minutes of booting up your machine, it works beautifully on an Arcade monitor with JPac. After using this boot disc I was up and running without a care in the world. Please. Use this.
