You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
I would kill the x series and go back to the nes roots. I don't like the x series that much.
I'm not sure if I'll be in the minority on this, but I haven't really liked a Megaman Game since the original 6 for the NES. Who wants to play a half-assed FPS as a little blue guy?

The general opinion is that the series' greatest achivement was MM2, though this is debatable. Personally, I also like MM3 and the first MMX.
...
Okay, so I'm hopelessly addicted to that blue guy. I have almost all of his games.

MMX3> Any other MegaMan game.
Yeah, I like MMX3. I've been a Mega Man fan all of my life. I admit it. They should form a Mega Man Anonymous group for addicts like me.

How about they stop beating around the bush, bring in Dr. Wily in the X series, and be done with it?
They've been dancing around it since X2, and I'm tired of it.

My idea is to try to get to basics, a la MM2 or MM3.

It's about the prototypes, baby!
Yeah there has been too much retooling to the blue bomber. One of the things abought Mega Man is the constant premise. You kill stuff and steal its power and use it to kill other stuff. They try to get around that roadblock by adding new chars kind of like sega did to sonic with Tails and Knuckles. The thing its still the same game MM1 was just like MM2 and every other one.
Mega Man is a great game they should stop trying to make the game more "Xtreme" They really have 2 choices
1. Redo the whole game from top to bottom, and risk messing up a good thing.
2. Work to make the game just like it is but of the highest quality possible like they did with with Castlevania SOTN. A game that showed that they can still make a good quality 2d platform in the 3d market
I liked X, but I agree here. Maybe throw in some Castlevania SOTN elements, like powering up weapons, but this series needs to return to the source.Originally Posted by kai123
BTW, I've heard that X7 on PS2 is a complete TURD.
My friends who have X7 say the game is very fun, has some difficult spots, but overall is worth it. Oh, and the new guy "Axl" is a piece of garbage that should never return.

I havn't played much megaman since part 8, but they should give megaman a MASCULINE voice. Gawd how I HATE hearing a high pitched female voice coming out of megaman, or should I say Mega-She-Male!
I GOT IT! How about a game where Rush is the main character?

I just got X4 this weekend, and loving it. And yes, finishing up the X series with the Zero and Wily issue would be nice.

Judging from the reviews of Mega Man X7, the best thing Capcom can do with the series is to bury it in a New Mexico landfill and pour six feet of concrete over it.
Seriously, though, Capcom should give it an infusion of Metroid-style play mechanics. Ditch the linear level structure and make the player unlock portions of the game by defeating bosses and collecting items. That might get people interested in the game again, and it would give Capcom a chance to better integrate the storyline into the game.
Also... no 3D this time. In fact, Capcom, never do that again.
