Did anyone else, back in the NES/SNES days, sometimes hook their console up to a TV/VCR and record a game they were playing, either so they could watch it and figure out what they were doing wrong or to show off to friends? I know I did, quite a lot.

Now I wonder if that's still possible with modern consoles.

I know what you're saying, I could just find out, but my consoles are hooked up in a major and pain staking way in the other room (my VCR/TV combo is in my bedroom) and I'd like some help before I mess with all that.

Can I just take a PS2 or a GC, hook the A/V cables up to the front plugs on the VCR, start a game, and then hit record?
