Default weird Mega Drive cartridge (official though), pics inside

I mentioned this a few month ago in a MD Rom topic, and i finally did scan the cartridge...

has anyone ever seen this, genesiscollective doesn't have it, i can't find ANY info on it but i'm 99% sure it's an official cart

would be great if someone knows anything about this, but also if noone doesn't as i would own a pretty rare cart then

    Is that PAL or NTSC?
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

Yeah, I am pretty sure that I have seen these before... I think it might have been bundled with the Megadrive in one of the later deals.. but I'm not sure.

Can't find it on anything current or closed on Ebay UK ... but I would be suprised if it is rare, since those Mega Games type carts always seem to be fairly common. I might be wrong though!

That's the first time I've seen that one - It's got the same games as MegaGames 6 Vol. 2 [which is fairly hard to find anyway, only being released briefly as a pack-in in some parts of mainland Europe & Australia. Vol. 1 & 3 are much more common.], but has the same name as the US version of MegaGames.
The -18 suffix on the part no. suggests that it's was released only in Germany.

hydr0x - did you buy it new or 2nd hand? No box or manual I suppose?

i bought it 2nd hand half a year ago from some turkish (<<right? someone from the turkey) seller in my city who sells a lot of used video game stuff

i could ask him where he got it from, but i don't know if he can remember!

@vroom, mhhh that's what i hear all the time when i show these pic/cart to someone, but NOONE can find any info on the net or even find it on ebay or something like that. I suppose that's because the Mega Games are common, but this one seems to be pretty rare

it's PAL, no manual or box

Hmmmis there another 6 pack in the UK?

The US one has Sonic, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Columns, Hang On and Revenge of Shinobi.

Maybe this is just the OK version of our US version?

There's a whole bunch of PAL ones:

Mega Games 1 (Columns, Super Hang-On and World Cup Italia '90) - Same as Genesis 'Triple Score'
Mega Games 2 (The Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe)
Mega Games 3 (Super Thunderblade, Alien Storm and Super Monaco GP)
Mega Games 6 (World Cup Italia '90, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, The Revenge of Shinobi, Super Hang-On and Columns) - *nearly* the same as the US 6-Pack (World Cup Italia '90 instead of Sonic)
Mega Games 6 Vol. 2 (World Cup Italia '90, Alien Storm, Super Monaco GP, Super Thunderblade, Super Hang-On and Columns)
Mega Games 6 Vol. 3 (Sega Soccer, Columns, Super Monaco GP, Revenge of Shinobi, Sonic 1 & Streets of Rage)

aswell as Classic Collection (Gunstar Heroes, Flicky, Alex Kidd & Altered Beast) and Sega Sports 1 (Super Monaco GP, Ultimate Soccer & Wimbledon)

The rarest seems to be MegaGames 6 Vol 2, (although while loose copies of Vol. 3 are common, boxed copies are much rarer)

I'd say its just a packaging variation of Megagames 6 vol.2, which would indeed make it rare

If its anything like the Megagames 6 vol. 2 (which is rather common here too ) that we got, there wouldnt have been a box because it was indeed a pack-in, advertised as a Mega drive II with 6 games included. I think there was a manual, which was just all six manuals combined to make a booklet, but its not the sort of thing everyone would keep and zip-lock away.

I think it´s a pack from Europe, but not from UK, it´s from Spain, i think a years ago Erbe (a famous game publisher in that country) released a pack series, but i´m not sure...

I'm pretty sure it's German rather than Spanish. Every cart I've seen with a -18 suffix in the part number or catalogue number has been a German variant. Spanish localized games have a -06 suffix.

    European variants I've seen:
xxxx-03 = ?? (only seen it on Shining Force II, which has 6 languages on the back of the box, but game and manual are all English)
    xxxx-05 = UK
    xxxx-06 = Spain
    xxxx-09 = France
    xxxx-18 = Germany
    xxxx-20 = Holland (?)
    xxxx-50 = Europe-wide

thx for all your input, it seems as if i really got a rare item (FINALLY, my rarest thing is Chavez II lose )

i think i'm going to ask the seller were he got it from and see if he perhaps has a manual floating around, i didn't check everything he had, cause he has quite a lot of manuals that are a bit overpriced

The thing is, I was looking at the Erbe release of Shadow Dancer on the Spectrum and noticed that this screen flashed by really quickly (an anti-drug message). I managed to take a picture and realized it was Spanish text. I assumed it had to be southern america/mexico, but now I know differently! Very useful to know.

[o]Was[/i] the Speccy released in South America?

Ah, that's what I thought. As if that region needs any more crazy consoles :D

I bet it would've been popular, though. The price on those machines was a great point.

Lol @ my "[o] [/i]" tags. I guess there's Italic and Otalic, perhaps.

Well, there are a lot of obscure and crazy consoles, but not the same that in USA, for example: Electrolab Supervision, EDU Juegos, Dynacom, Family game, Froggy 2600, and the list continues...
