    Default 32x freezing

I just got a 32x and all games are freezing. It happens with 32x games and Genesis games. The freezing will happen at random times during gameplay, but it happens nearly every time I play a game.

I cleaned the contacts on the bottom of the 32x (the connectors that attach it to the Genesis) and it didn't help. I have a Genesis 2 and never had this problem before installing the 32x. Everything is installed correctly, including the two metal clips inside the Genesis cartridge slot.

Is there anything else I can do, or is it defective?

You could try reseating the ribbon cables found inside your 32X 'shroom:

It's not for the technically squeamish, unfortunately.

Make sure the genny 2 AC you are using is a good one. Other than that- what the sausage said.

Bratwurst --- Thanks for the link, that was very helpful. Unfortunately, reconnecting the white wires inside the 32x didn't seem to help.

I'm going to try the eraser trick tonight after I get home from work, and see if that helps.

Yes, it's now working, although I'm not sure exactly what I did to make it work. After reconnecting the wires and trying the eraser trick, my games were still freezing. Then the other night I got home from work, tried it again, and it's been working fine ever since. Weird.
