Default Games that only you seem to like and no one else does

I don't just mean underrated games or guilty pleasures. What I mean here is games that everyone else classifies as pure horsedung, but you play a lot and you can't see why they badmouth it. One that I think fits here is Ehrgeiz. I've heard many mixed reviews for this game, but the majority of those that I have seen seem to classify it as mediocre. Personally, I think Ehrgeiz rocks! It just has so much depth, a pretty good fighting system, and six characters from FFVII is a nice bonus. The adventure mode is the best part, IMO. Beating that certainly took a load out of my life. Ehrgeiz is the best example that I can muster, but I think everyone out there has some more fitting games. Anyone?

Virtua Striker 3 v2002 (GC), man i only found one good review on the net (8.3 though) but for me, this game rocks

pure fun arcade gameplay, you've got to accept the fact that controls are different from other soccer games (hard to describe) and it's a great game

I too loved Ehrgeiz - however it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth after I lost it in a big trade I did with someone stateside from GameTZ. You don't see too many copies of the Pal version about these days either. Bugger.

Gradius IV also comes to mind when I think of blasted games. Everyone rags on it for reasons I can't decipher. It is really cool, and hard to beat, as is the tradition of Gradius. The reprise of the Shadow Dancer was excellent and frustrating. It's just so old-school, and although that isn't for everyone, I crave old-school gameplay. On another note, I can't wait for Gradius V.

And I should have known that there was another topic like this... sorry. Anyone care to lock it?
