    Default NECG Photo Coverage Inside

So, I posted this in the existing NECG thread, but I'm not convinced that many will still bother to follow that one. In fact, mods are welcome to lock or remove it. Instead, we can go from here.

That's right! Photo Coverage! Feast your eyes!

    http://www.gis.net/~bertulli/02Nov03a.htm

    Enjoy.

    Excellent coverage as always, Scott!

Can you do me a favor and let us know who's who in the group photos? I'd like to import those into our member photos page and want to make sure I've got everyone. I didn't know Ed Oscuro was there, for example... and there's new guy "soupforare" I presume among the group.

    Brilliant!

Hell, I was there, and I didn't know Ed Oscuro was there until you said it just now.

EDIT: Okay, damn, man, I didn't realize I'd gained so much weight. Action must be taken.

As always, great pictures Scott. Man, I look at the pictures from the early NECG days and I compare them to the new ones and I see myself getting older, balder, and chubbier. Thanks for reminding me of this...jerk!

Glad you're diggin' the coverage folks.

Ed O was not there - he just came up in conversation. Read those captions carefully kids

soupforare is a buddy of mine from outside the classic gaming community who I conned into coming out since he happens to be into the hobby as well. I didn't expect to see him turn up on DP, though - hey there James!

Here's a left to right (counting by heads), going from first picture to second picture:

Joe (cutoff, just shoulder), soupforare (C64 shirt), Great Heirophant (from RGVC), SoulBlazer, Chadtower, Todd Street, Keir (green shirt, hidden behind Todd's head), Sylentwulf, Christianscott, Mark (secretquest from AA), *skip to picture 2, repeat Chris, then Mark*, Kevincure (back), AA guy (space invaders shirt), Scott (friend of mine, back), AA guy, wberdan, POG

    Got it?

    Also, you're welcome Todd!

I asked the redheaded girl, she said she was a friend of a friend who was in a group who had stopped by to check it out. Not a girl from any boards or anything. I forget her name since I was pretty buzzed. She was cute, too.

Emily. She's actually in the hallway in the first pic. I noticed her reading a book in a corner while the meet was going on. Definitely not a gamer!

Ah Christian, you'll never understand this process. When I have nearly 100 pictures, I can only choose about a 25% of them for my magical coverage. It's partly a server space issue and partly that not every picture inspires a remotely clever comment. "Here's Joe, he's standing in the doorway." Not fun. Sometimes, not everyone makes it into the coverage. Joe is splattered all over previous coverage though, and Wilder even has a closeup feature from last Feb's meet. Unfortunately, the group from RI took off pretty quickly after they arrived, so I mostly missed out on them with the camera (great folks, though!) Don't make me embarrass you in public by exploiting this brand of weakness on your end, man. It's starting to get just plain sad.

(For those who may be a little confused, this is just standard NECG mastermind ribbing - there's really a whole truckload of love in there!)

    Having addressed that,

I asked the redheaded girl, she said she was a friend of a friend who was in a group who had stopped by to check it out. Not a girl from any boards or anything. I forget her name since I was pretty buzzed. She was cute, too.
Ah yes, Emily. She was way cute. And you say she was just a friend of a friend there? I assumed attachment. Shit, I should've got her number - she was really sweet, too. Someone, quickly, direct me to one of the folks she came up with. I mean it. Now!

That looked like quite a party there. I would have loved to be there, but I don't really have much of a motivation to travel to New England in the future. Sure, the area isn't too far away from Pennsylvania, but major travelling in general just doesn't bode well with me. But that looked so cool, and everyone really had a great time. Good job.

Okay, admittedly that translation was through the goggles of both beer and marriage. She could just as easily have said "I'm with someone who came here" but I didn't bother trying to look into it since I'm clearly not interested in picking anyone up...

This is true. I would have talked with her more but you came up while I was and were quite obviously interested in more than I was... so I bailed and got another beer.

i've considered promoting the meets on some of the local college msg boards, you know with MIT, wentworth and BU we'd surely find some engineering gamer geeks. that might up the "chick" count a bit
i mean really this is like the biggest college town in the country and all we get is kevincure? just kidding kevin, college kids i would guess would be more into buying systems than bringing boxes of goods to trade, due to dorm living. poor clubninja, i think you cursed yourself when you brought your girl to the 2cnd meet.
