Most genny 1 AC's will power an SMS, but apparently some don't quite fit.

I fix PS2's by the score professionally. Usually they are dirty, and occasionally, a pot tweak can do the trick. I also have spare lasers and so on. Thing is, unless you are comfortable disassembling laptop computers, you should likely stay out of your PS2. A good third of the repairs that end up in my lap are failed repairs by owners. they are not designed to be easy to work on.

For what it's worth, I could fix your PS2 for as little as $30USD (likely), or it could be $53USD (laser adjust), a laser replacement $60USD (parts permitting), or a worst case of $105USD (replace with a new refurbish with new 90 day SONY warranty). The real problem is, shipping to and from would be your responsibility. Not so great a deal after that.

If you are comfortable going inside your PS2, you could try a cleaning yourself. read this: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/view...ght=ps2+repair

My experience is far greater now than when I wrote that. So many different issues can cause D.R.E it's not funny.

    Good Luck.

Thanks. I just found out that if I call Sony, I should be able to get free repair. I think I'll do that (No offense, but I feel a bit more comfortable sending it there). So, what about those replacement Saturn cables? Anyone?

If I'm not mistaken, the Dreamcast AC will work on a Saturn.

The power cord from a Playstation or a PS2 or a Dreamcast will all fit into the molded outlet of a Saturn, and all of them work fine. Each of those systems has an internal power supply, so all you need is a cord that fits to get the power from the wall to the back of the box. It's molded that way to ensure that the polarized power gets there in the proper orientation.

RF adapter is unique to the Saturn. It's its own monster.

Yup. Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, PSX, and probably more.
