    Default True Crime Bites.

Anyone else having a bad time with this game? I was expecting something along the lines of GTA, but instead I got a steaming pile o' crap. As far as I can tell, with being about 2 hrs. in, it breaks down like this.

    The Bad
    --------------
-The controls are not easy to work with
-The camera is annoying ( I keep staring at myself as someone in front of me shoots me)
-The cars are not fun to drive - this is why I stopped playing the Matrix
    - There are loading times as I'm driving, and they are not handled well, the games just stops for half a second . God forbid I'm trying to make a turn...
    - The A.I. doesn't seem to be that great. I'll be fighting a guy in the middle of the street and get run over. Fair enough, but the car drags me along for up to 2 blocks!!! You think they would notice!

    The Good
    --------------
    - I like the whole learning new moves as you go thing. It's a nice natural progression.
    - I like the ability to frisk people. Cuz I like to start trouble.

I have other likes and dislikes, but they are mostly minor. I'm just basically very dissappointed. Anyone else?

I agree it sucked really bad. The only good thing it had going for it was it's soundtrack, and some of the cars looked pretty good. Other than that i thought it was horrible.

I played it for an hour the other day. It's not anywhere near as good as Vice City, but it isn't a steaming pile either.

Reviews like yours are the reason why I'm waiting for this game to drop to $20 before I get it. It looks kind of cool but most everyone says it's not nearly as good as GTA.

I think waiting for a price drop would be wise. I played for about 30 mins today it is ok. Wouldn't be bad for 20 though.

I'm playing the game through on the Xbox at the moment and I've got to say that I quite like it. The car handling doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as some...other games (*cough* The Getaway/The Matrix *cough*) The on foot stuff seems to work well - the camera has only become 'unusable' once while I've played, and even then, pressing down on the D-Pad sorted it. The gun based action is no where near as good as Max Payne, though it is several thousand times better than the monstrosity that was Dead to Rights. The 'one on one' fights are ok/poor - though the computer does tend to block way too often, and they're not exactly high speed afairs. The sound track is a bit naff, though the fact you can customise it helps a lot. Also, if there are mid-level loading sections on the Xbox I've not noticed them.
Overall this reminded me a lot of Headhunter, a game that I really enjoyed.

    **The Good**

Mission structure (alternatives, good cop/bad cop)
    Voice acting
    Car damage
    Upgrades
    Weapon based combat (just)
    Random street crimes
    Frisking!
Car handling (however, take into account that I *dispise* the handling in Gran Turisimo)
    Customisable soundtracks

    **The Bad**
Mostly generic rap soundtrack as standard.
    Crappy stealth Spa mission.
    Hand to hand combat.
Despite the alternative missions, not that long.

    **The Ugly**
Failing a mission, selecting "continue" and missing a chunk of plot insted of geting an alternative mission.
Having the ability to show your badge or fire a warning shot, only to discover that they're more or less useless.
It crashed!! Though this seems to have been a one off.
