PM or e-mail me with your address, Griking - something must not be right in our database. Four issues have gone out in the last six months! Credit Dave (Arcade Antics) who has taken over the paper subscription operation.
Got mine on Friday, and after breaking out mine plasma cutter to cut through the stapple that appeared to be made out of some medal from another planet I enjoyed it very much.
But really that was one industral grade staple.

Just a question in regards to the staples.. I noticed for keeping it shut an industrial staple was used but for the corner of the pages (the binding) several regular ones had to be used. Why not just use the heavy duty staple for that too?
Also, I get several catalogues similar in thickness and paper material as that of the DP Newsletter, and they are 'sealed' for mailing with white dot stickers. They seem to work fairly well and are easier to slice open.
I'm not complaining as this was a nice promotion afterall, just throwing suggestions around where they're not wanted.
Ah... but look more closely - there's only ONE staple in the corner. It's just folded over in a secure fashion that may make it appear to be several staples at first glance.Originally Posted by Bratwurst
As for the rest, it's all about automation. And old school. And staple pullers.

How does one sign up to receive such mailings? And is there a fee involved?
Holy crap that's one long staple. Nevermind.

It was a timed promotion - I had to have the mailing list done by the end of that evening so anyone who was online that night (mainly detected via the "Now Online" at the bottom of the main forum page) were PM'ed by one of us. If they responded that night, they got onto the list.Originally Posted by Videogamerdaryll
We'll do that again with the next issue, too. So if you missed it this time there will be a next time!
My copy had both the white dot sticker and the monstrosity of a staple.Originally Posted by Bratwurst
And Dave, what was the special thanks for (not that I don't appreciate it).
By the way, I visited Ralph Baer this weekend and he had the latest issue sitting on the desk in his office. And he read every page.

I just want to further extend the notion that the staple holding the newsletter together was nothing short of impressive. In fact, I have it laying here on my desk. I refuse to throw it away. It gave me a good fight!
By the way, great publication. It has a nice spot right next to my DP Guide.
