Default Help me fix an original PS1....

Hi, I bought 2 PS's at auction on Saturday.

One looks fine, but half the time doesnt boot up games, and goes straight to the browser.

the other one had the little 'wheel' that you slip the CD's over broken you know the little blck button with the 3 tiny bearings in it?

Anyway, if I am real careful I can slip a game CD over it and it works :/

Those little buttons look fairly unviersal as the one in my Sony discman looks similar.

Any idea how I remove / replace it? thanks

The first PS you have might have dirty or bad laser. It could be out of adjustment as well. Or if it's one of the first model, the plastic guide might be worn out causing the laser diode to sit too far away from the CD.

And yes the little hub (your second PS) is fairly common and easy to replace. Just check http://www.gameconsolerepair.com/ for spare parts.
