Yep, I guess today I have to consider my finds super beyond excellent! But first before I show my deals I want to ask your opinon on whether or not I should pick these up...

Arkanoid (complete in box with Vaus Controller) - 18.85
    Complete MINT Mega Man 1 - 25.85

More than I want to pay but there good finds, I can pick them up anytime, just wanting to see what you guys think. OK, now on to my killer deals of the day!

    --------------------------------

First Stop - Pawn Shop I've seemed to pass by hundreds of times and never seen it before

    Tony Hawk Underground (PS2) - 20.00
MINT Complete Boxed Panasonic 3DO (Top Loading Version) with 6 games (Gex, Dragons Lair, Out Of This World, Battle Chess, Off-World Interceptor & Alone In The Dark) - 20.00

Had to talk the price of the 3DO down from 40.00, but it was beyond simple to do. Im super proud of that one.

    --------------------------------

Next Stop - The Video Game Cavern

Philips CD-I Boxed, Complete. System is in excellent shape, box is a little beat up - 16.85

I Want My Mommy for Atari 2600 (RARE) - .99

    Master System Gun - 2.85

The CD-I blew my mind! I cant believe I found that...IVE NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE!

    --------------------------------

    Last Stop - Gamestop

    Boxed Dreamcast Keyboard - 1.99

Aero The Acrobat for SNES - 2.99

Nothing great here, just pointless pickups.

    --------------------------------

The CD-I pickup: first rate! The 3DO pickup: fab, simply FAB. The "I Want My Mommy" pickup... don't downplay that one, it's not an easy game to find, let alone for under $1!

    Overall rating: A+!

    Enjoy your new cheap goodies!

I'd hit that. That's what I call a productive bit of thrifting! Wish I could pull off such a feat around here!

Seriously! Cleveland is a raging hell hole for thrifty collectors. I never see a damn thing in the thrifts here, and the only non-corporate stores belong to Buyatari, and, considering he KNOWS what a game should be priced, I'm not going to find any crazy deals there.

Yeah, I invited a fellow forum member down here to check out the local thrifting, as I hadn't been in quite a while. To say the very least, it was...sorely disappointing. OK, I scored a C64 with all the hookups and a Koala Pad for $15, all working, but that was just about it. The thrifting scene here is dead, and the only hope for a real score is the yard sale scene - and even then, there's not a lot more hope. I'd be more than happy to run into this kind of score. A while back I thought I'd lucked out picking up a couple of very rare 2600 carts at a yard sale - turns out they were, like nearly everything else at that sale, water damaged. Ah well, ya pays your money, ya takes your chances.

Aero the Acrobat for SNES for $2.99?

Damn, I would get that. I loved that game. Last time I was at Gamestop, it was like $7.99 or something.

I'd kill for that kind of luck, PDF. I literally have never seen a single game at the salvation army or goodwill stores we have around here.

The Video Game Cavern <---- This at the Jockey Lot flea market?

That place was HUGE! Not the VGC, but the Jockey Lot. I went up there about a year and a half ago. I bought some Atari/Coleco games from Video Game Cavern. They had bags and small flyers with their name & a dragon on it? I think I know where you're talking about.

    Very nice finds!!

Yes, that is the same Video Game Cavern that moves pretty much the whole store to the Anderson flea market every weekend. Also, Cmosfm, I shit you not, I eyed that Atari "I Want My Mommy" JUST YESTERDAY. I was in the Video Game Cavern picking up a sealed copy of Golgo 13 (NES) for fellow DPer petewhitley. I didn't know rarity on it though since I'm not into Atari really. Nice finds!

Also, it just feels weird to have people talking about the same haunts I hit pretty regularly! I guess I'm used to you guys with your NECG and all that jazz, whereas I feel neglected in SC as far as gaming groups and such. It's an idea though....
