My name is Dave, and I’m a Vice City addict. I can’t seem to stop playing it. However, this post is more than just a fan boy rant.
I’m a person who used to rule the arcade. I played Asteroids in an arcade for over 48 hours on one quarter. As kids we used to have our pecking order based on how good of a gamer you were.
I came to realize that I lost my gaming addiction around the time I got rid of my Genesis. I got older, got married and divorced, got a real job, and lost the drive and time necessary to seriously play games. I joined this board to rekindle that addiction and that didn’t work. Don’t get me wrong, I love this board, but many people notice that my off topic posts far outweigh my VG posts.
Well, this past holiday weekend I must’ve spent approximately 30-35 hours playing Vice City. I got all the hidden packages, finished most of the missions, used the tank and Hunter without cheats, and done almost everything there is to do on that game. The amazing thing is that I’m sitting at work thinking about the VC time I’m going to put in later tonight.
Do any of you know the maximum amount of money you can earn in VC? $999,999,999.
I know because I did it at 2am Saturday night. I got the Vigilante mode up to the 400th level before finally giving up and going to bed. I did it because I wanted to see if I could do it, and for no other reason.
In short, I am now an addict again. I lost a very important part of my life, and Rockstar helped me find it again. Can I have a hallelujah?
