Since Raccoon Lad has the post crash covered, here's the pre-crash version. (and yes, I left out the Studio 2 and Channel F on purpose!)

Colecovision's controller no doubt causedthousands of cases of carpal tunnel syndrome. Good thing they didn't know what carpal tunnel was back then, so it didn't matter!
Hell, if those controllers were released in today's society, Colecovision would be wiped out by all the lawsuits!
Boy, people today are such pussies. Vive les 80's!!!!!!!!!
Haven't attained the last three yet but the Intellivision's got my vote from the others for sure.
I really wish I could vote for 2 because I'd have to vote for the Intellivision and Coleco controllers. As it stands, I think the Intellivision gets the edge. At least I can make the standard Coleco controllers work (plus I can use the Super Action Controllers instead.) I have a terrible time trying to play anything on the INTV. Add to it the fact that they are hard wired with that tightly coiled 70's headphone cord that causes the console to move everytime you do and the fact that the fire buttons are terrible and make my hands hurt, and we have a clear cut winner.
Hmm. I know it's early but I figured the 5200 would be making more of a showing. Personally I like the 5200 controllers. Yes, you read that right. They do take a bit of getting used to, and the fire buttons are mushy, no question. But I'd still take them over the INTV or Coleco any day!
Agreed. The 5200 controllers did rock in a way and I'd gladly use them over Colecovision/Intellivision in a heartbeat.
As I alway say though, what sucked about the 5200 controller wasn't the control, it was because they BROKE. And just because we all now know how to fix them or make them better doesn't change that original fact.
I WOULD HAVTA SAY INTELLIVISION :x I WOULDNT KNOW HOW TO USE IT ANYMORE...DIDNT PLAY IT SINCE 1983
Another old topic.
My vote goes to the 5200, Colecovision is the most awkward, but the 5200 fell apart way too easily. I didn't mind the Intellivision controller, I liked the disc the fire buttons were too stiff though. Now the version 2! Ackk!!
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

I gotta give Colecovision the vote here. The 5200 controllers were a little more ergonomic, and the Intellivision controllers were arranged a little more logically. The Colecovision stock controllers were the Xbox controllers of their day - just about too awkward for words. I can't use one for long.
Intellivision = mattel's paperweight.
I for one can stand coleco stock controls, and have picked up five working and one semi-working super-actions anyway. Coleco probably would have been better off releasing the damn system with super action controllers; while the stock controls did cause me to step back, the instant i saw the SA's, it was all good.
I'd have to say that atari 5200 controllers are not bad when they work. not bad at all. However there is no excuse for INTV controllers.
The 5200 should win hands down, but only because they broke so easily. I went through two pairs within the first six months of owning it, and after that I had enough and spent the big bucks for the Wico arcade controllers, which were far better and I never had any problems with them after that.
