Default Lets Talk Mega CD Games...

I am interested in the Japanese selection of games compaired to the US. To me there are only around 15-20 Sega CD Games that I would want to play, but I am sure there were quite a few more released in Japan.

If anyone has reccommendations or comments on the Mega CD and games please post them

Yeah, this is one of the spots where my import knowledge is VERY muhc lacking, and one of the systems that I still can't play imports on.

Supposedly you can play Mega CDs on a X-Box through emulation just like the PC Engine. Not having an X-Box I don't know much about it. I have to play my import stuff on emulators except for 1 or 2 tites than can be converted to work on a US system.

As for games these are some of them that I remember.

    Action, fighting, beat em ups
    Earnest Evans
    Night Strikers
    Cyborg 009
    Annet

    RPGs
    Aisle Lord
    Death Bringer
Cosmic Fantasies Stories(has parts 1 and 2 on 1 cd.
    Shin Megami Tensei
    Illusion City
    Heroic Land of Arslan
    Frea Area
    Arcus 1, 2, 3

    Digital Comics
    Shadowrun
    Bakuden
    3X3 Eyes

    Stretegy and or Stretegy/RPG
    Mega Schwarschild
    Sangokushi 3
    Lodoss Senki

There also are a few I hasve that I don't remember what they are like Detnator, Devastor, Ranma etc.

Sonic CD is supposed to have different music for the import version.

To be perfectly blunt most of the Mega cd games suck. A couple of the action games are worth getting but other than that your not really missing much.

You can play MegaCDs on an XBox. It requires you to:

    1: Mod your system
2: Put an emulator on your xbox

    more info here:

read before askin the obvious questions. The tutorials is a great place to start.

Yeah, but in the long run, if you're fighting for space like me, it's much more worth it to mod the Xbox. I play all my FC, SFC, MD/MCD stuff on the Xbox, and quite a bit of Turbo stuff, although the emulation is just medicore.

Famicom looks better on the Xbox, unless you can get the A/V one, of course.

Also, for the one or two good N64 games, there's a decent N64 emulator, as well as MAMEoX for playing classics to early 90's arcade games.

One of the best gaming investments I've made!
