Anyone know how many of these were made?
Regardless, it'd be a good idea to get one now before the eBay drones hear about this.

Not cool. I wanted to get one of these but they were way to expensive.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
I've repaired one of those, but i don't own one. What an unholy marriage of a GC and a DVD player onthe inside. Ive never seen so may ribbon cables in one machine (12+ !!!)
Cooo-oool machine though. Same procedure as a GC to region switch mod the GC playability. Much harder to get at the GC guts inside it though. If I had the money, I'd like to have one.

How popular was this machine in Japan anyways? Like, how did it's sales compare to normal Gamecube sales?

Doh. I'll have to buy one as soon as I get the money around, and leave it in the box too I suppose :/
Total speculation here, but with the Gamecube loaders advancing at the rate they are, I'm sure a mod chip isn't too far down the road. I'm sure N doesn't need a unit out there that plays regular sized discs to help anyone out.
man... ive wanted one of these from the moment i saw it..
this sucks, cause now im gonna end up paying more for it.
it looks really cool, even though id never actually use it

I've lusted after one of these since the first time I saw one, but as with everybody else, it was simply too expensive for me.
Now, as I don't yet have a Gamecube, and my only DVD player is an el-cheapo model (that I'm pefectly happy with, btw), I'd probably use it frequently.
Hell, I don't have any of the current systems yet, and the Gamecube is the one I want most. I really wish I could blow $500 on this thing while Lik-sang still has a few left.
Oh well. Life goes on, and my Dreamcasts still kick!
Pressured to quit? That's an interesting possibility you bring up.Originally Posted by Flack

You're saying the GC won't get modded because the market is too small? If so, you're way off there. I believe now that they know how to feed data into a Gamecube, it's only a matter of time before a chip comes out. Unfortunately, there's always a market when it comes to people wanting something for nothing.Originally Posted by Raedon
I haven't seen a Panasonic Q in person so I don't really know, but I would assume that since it reads DVDs (and full sized ones at that) it would be a lot easier to mod.
