Default People paying ridiculous amounts for SNES dust covers!

I cannot believe the amount of cash that people are willing to fork over for SNES dust covers.

In alot of auctions on Ebay, they are going for almost $1.00 each, or even more!

Is there no way for somebody to get a huge amount of these things, without paying big cash for them?

I would think you could buy 100 of them for like $25.00 or something. But that doesn't seem to be the case.

The main reason they are going for so much, is that many people are collecting for SNES at the moment, and want to protect their carts. Not many people saved their dust covers back then, except the collectors also.

Personally, I think $1.00 each is pretty fair. I save every one I get myself

$1 per SNES dust cover and NES sleeve is usually fair.

$1 is fair for a freaking piece of plastic?

I would think that there would be some place that you could order hundreds of these things, and get them for 10 cents each.

Thing is, these things were no longer made after a certain point, (1994, 96?). They're fairly well made, very thick and not flimsy like those NES dust sleeves. So yeah I can justify spending a buck a piece on them. A cheaper way to go about it is to just pick them off of SNES carts that flea vendors have for sale in large bins. They don't mind usually as long as you're buying them with a game.

Yeah, $1 each isn't bad. Not sure about $1 each for NES ones though, more like $.25-.35...maybe $.50 mint and logo

i sold 100 nes sleeves on ebay for around $35-$50, I can't remember really well. And because everybody is so picky about the Nintendo logo, I was forced to dig through them all and count them out. And I will be buying up the sleeves for SNES games whenever I can now, make some money

But can anybody help me understand what the big deal is with having the Nintendo Logo on the NES dust sleeves? Is it just personal preference?

If you are a really picky completist, you want the nintendo logo sleeve on all of the games that had that sleeve packed in with them (I believe all the NINTENDO released titles had them and all third party developed titles used the plain black sleeve). That is what I am guessing the reason why people want them, but I could be wrong.

It might be easier to find sealed tengen games, or complete ones and just steal them. I sold a couple in the auction where I sold the regular plastic sleeves. I also had 5 or so Color Dreams(blue) sleeves and maybe one other company had something very similar. Didn't bring much money........but if somebody were hunting for them, it might be easier to buy some sealed games. Especially with the sealed nes market being down. Color Dreams and Tengen(3rd party) sealed games usually don't go for much anyways since you can never prove the "officiality"
