I've surpassed this with the purchase of gauntlet for the 2600 as well as an unreleased prototype. Let's just say it was more than $1000 for both.Originally Posted by MattG/Snyper2099

These Reproductions available with custom labels via PM with free shipping for DP members:
ATARI 2600: Mazy Match, Cola Invaders (the one I released/made), Meltdown (2600), Kabobber, Stone Age (NTSC), A Misterious Thief (NTSC).
NES(US):Crazy Climber, Mario Adventure, Castlevania C.O.M., Drac's Night Out, Galaxian.
If it wasn't for sarcasm, I'd rather be dead.
$110 Cad for Super Metroid the day it came out. No regrets whatsoever.
£45 for Tomb Raider 3 back when it was new. I never got past the first level then traded it in a few years later for £3.
Only two games really spring to mind:
£120 for a copy of Radiant Silvergun- box, manual, spine card, etc.
£100 for a boxed MVS copy of Metal Slug 3- the cardboard box, instruction sheet, sticker, poster, etc.
I dished out $510 for a factory sealed and minty fresh Chrono Trigger. I've never seen a copy so crisp. I laminated it so that the condition is maintained for a hundred more years.
$80 for a new copy of Killer Instinct Gold back in '96. I know the game gets hated on a lot but I really enjoyed it. Still have it to this day.
While not as much, I did fork over $40 for Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X3 (SNES ver.) Man, many of you have me beat.
FF11 w/hard drive for PS2- 99.99 plus tax
Enjoyed the game, though, so it was worth it.
I paid $45 for a loose Tengen Tetris for NES, well worth it!
I guess it helped too with $2000 cash in my pocket, but that is beside the point!
Thanks.
$38 for Mega Man X2 Cart only on Amazon
My answer has changed considerably since I've last posted.
To name a few:
$725 for a sealed Hot Slots
$700 for a loose Myriad 6-in-1
$550 for a complete Bubble Bath Babes
$550 for a compelte Peek A Boo Poker
$200 for a loose Cheetahmen II
And that's all been in the past 5 months
Honestly, the most I've paid for a single game is the current generation, new-release price of $50. Even then, it's an exception: The current market is very favorable for the patient consumer, and I usually wait.
$79.99 for Chrono Trigger.
My local game store put it out on the shelves a week early.
Well, in the past two weeks I've bought a complete, mint as hell Panzer Dragoon Saga for $141, an also complete, also mint as hell Dragon Force for $94, and a complete, not very mint Guardian Heroes for $75. Stupid Saturn, costing me a lot of money.Originally Posted by sirhansirhan

Speaking of which, since I quoted my old record (now the second-most I've ever paid for a single game) at the top of this thread, and we just passed the one year anniversary of me making that purchase, I'm so glad I bought that Keio Flying Squadron when I did. It's such an awesome game, and I almost never see them for sale at all.

In my hometown of Belleville, NJ, there was a video game store/rental in the Grand Union shopping plaza on Main St., called Video Game Dynasty. Everything they sold was ridiculously overpriced. I bought some Atari stuff there, but rarely NES. My aunt, though, didn't know any better, and bought Metroid there for over 70 dollars (in 1988).

~$100 USD for Giana Sisters C64 tape.
$600 US for a factory sealed Chrono Trigger. Nothing I regret about that.
I dont want to spend too much on a single item. I however have bought several items ~50 euros. Like Ikaruga and a few others
Old School:
fifty bucks for Earthbound and I do not regret it
New School:
70 bucks for Guitar Hero 2 with Controller
The most for me would be $95 for a complete Suikoden 2 on ebay. I originally bought the game when it was first released, but it was stolen. So, since the Suikoden series is my favorite series of all time, I figured I had better find another copy and fast.
