Hey all, thought I'd share this from my web-site. Merry Christmas!
A Game Rave Christmas
‘Twas the day of Christmas and all through the attic
Jason was flying on pilot (automatic).
The comics were drawn on the PC with Care
In hopes that the deadline would soon disappear.
The presents were nestled all snug in the corner
Patiently sitting, they awaited their owners.
With juice in the tumbler and jam on the toast,
He kicked into gear to finish that which he loved most.
When out of nowhere there arose such a clatter
Jason tripped over himself to check on the matter.
Away down the stairs he fell like the rain,
Tumbling and thumping and ignoring the pain.
His dog Sam barking at the newly painted door,
Gave way as his master finally landed on the floor.
When, face against the glass did his eyes duly note,
Some fat guy in red with a snow covered coat.
He held himself in high spirit, a backpack his gear
Jason wondered why this bearded man was here.
With laughter he bellowed, with a smile he showed
From his backpack all the game systems flowed!
"Nintendo, and Xbox!
Atari and Duo,
PlayStation and Dreamcast!
Even the Neo Geo!
To the old days of Pong
And the new days of Halo
If you'd like some new games,
Just come out and say so!"
As Jason thought that this may all be a scheme,
The jolly old man laughed and called to his team.
Out of nowhere they came, on feet two by two,
They were brown with antlers, sleigh bells and hooves.
The reindeer stood tall as they brought up the sleigh,
Inside were bags of goodies from past shopping days.
As our hero stared at the display before his eyes,
Santa tore open the sacks all labeled 'Dangerboy'.
From the depths of the baggage came newfound Joy
There were controllers and games, and even Eye Toys.
He tossed them at Jason with unbridled glee,
There were games and more as far as eyes could see.
His eyes how they widened, his jaw how it dropped!
At the sight of all the video games quickly adding up.
There were CDs and carts, and E-readers galore,
With Jason ecstatic that there could be even more.
The sleigh was empty after an hour and a half,
With Dangerboy spoiled on the jolly old man's behalf.
They both stood at the bottom of the pile,
Looking at the top that went on for miles.
There were so many games and so many new titles,
That Jason realized he'd have no time to idle.
With a tip of his ball cap and a wave of his hand,
The fat man rode away rising high above the land.
With Santa Claus gone and the games still stacked,
Jason ran upstairs to make room on the racks.
He stocked and he piled, he pushed and he shoved,
Till all that was left was his useless Power Glove.
He ran back downstairs to the driveway with glee
With thoughts of new games playing on his TV.
But as he hit the door and opened the screen,
He woke up to his alarm...it was all just a dream!
He sulked in his bed, and stared at the pillow.
Saddened by the truth, he wept like a willow.
But such is life he thought, and exclaimed with a sigh:
"Happy Gaming to all, and to all a good night."
