    Default Do You.......... DDR?

I LOVE this game, and I'd like to mention, I've gotten quite good at it. I can now play almost everything from "DDR Best of Mix" on Maniac setting and get a B rating or better, except for the 2 Paranoid song's. Those are DAMN hard!

I'm just wandering if anyone else here play's the game, and if you DO play it, do you use the controller or the pad?

i want to get it, but i dont want to shell out 40 bucks for pads. its impossible to play with the controller. you cant press up and down or left and right at the same time!!!
Somebody once told me to get a life.

I told them I sold it for money to buy video games.

actually it is 100 times easier with the controller and you can play the game normally with it

Definantly easier, ! You use all 8 buttons on the controller, the up, down, left, right, X, circle, O, and the triangle. The co-inside with each other, ya dig? It's a good learning trick if you first use the controller to figure out the beat's, rythems, and the 3rd notes and off beats. It's a whole new world when you get on the pad though, lol.

As for shelling out the cash for the pad, check our favorite friend........ EBAY! Trust me, the pad's there are cheap, (between $20.00 and $40.00 for 2 regular pad's), and they are reliable.

    Yes indeed!

I'm currently in the process of graduating to 8-foot level. I can do a grand total of 2 8-footers: Absolute Maniac and The Earth Light Maniac. And of COURSE I play it with a pad, I switch to controller after doing about 20 songs in a row, maybe...

1 word sums up DDR for me: AFRONOVA. I love that song. Not the remixes, the original.

Hey Genesisnes: You don't. You hit square & circle or triangle & X at the same time.

    "Woah~! This is one hot song~! " - Solo2K Nurse

In 3rd mix, the announcer is wierd... like... "Are you an alien?!" or "Are you a monkey?!" XD

I think 5th mix is the best, though. I can "A" DXY! in Maniac... If I really try hard >_< I've done it before but it's really messed up.

I like Absolute though. Best. Song. EVAR~

I hate hate HATE DDRMAX and MAX2 >_< Stupid Freeze arrows.

    Hmmm... Ya think? ^_~

I was faced with the options of "japanese jibberish FREEZE ARROW"... when I play games, I don't want a lot of options at the beginning~ I just hit the start repeatedly because I assumed it'd be like every other DDR~ ;;; Bleh.

I play Konamix at home. I'm can pass all 7's and most 8's. Only drop out really SCARES me these days. In the arcades I have the choice of 4th mix, and 6th mix, but I rarely play them, since they require money and I have the game at home.

I'd have 3rd mix at home, but I don't have the right kind of mod chip, and it defeats the older ones.

I can probably dance better than most of you (a few years of Lindy Hop training), but I suck at DDR. I am happy to pass a 3 footer. I just haven't practiced enough. Perhaps if the weather goes sour I'll play it more and then I'll be able to show you my 'Real Dance.'

The expert-only mode in 3rd Mix is called "Step Step Revolution" and I think that is a better name for DDR in general. DDR isn't really "dancing" it's more like...rhythmic stepping. Which would explain why Ianoid sucks at DDR. Pump It Up DX is more like actual dancing, but not quite...
