Hey while at my local game store I picked up a NES, Super Mario Bros, and A Dragon Warrior original for $4, is that a good deal?

Yes, the games alone are worth $4 together and if the NES has hookups and a controller it is a very good deal.

OK here are the prices
NES W/ 2 controllers and hookups, plus mods of connectors-50
Super mario Bros-1.00
Dragon warrior-4.00
How bout now?
No.
I'd say you got shafted on the price for the NES... I only had to pay about $20 for my Genesis...

Not really, no.
IF, everything is in REALLY good condition (like new) and you REALLY wanted it, then all in all, I suppose it could be worth it, but definitely not a "good" deal.

I personally think that was a bad price to pay, especially if the NES didn't have a new cartridge connector (Do you get a blinking screen when you try to put in games?). BUT if you think you did well, then who's to say that that was bad? I paid $180 for my Xbox with 2 games and I feel ripped off, but I also paid $200 for my Gamecube by itself and don't regret it at all.
Egbert, I miss you...
Just curious...but since you already bought it - does it matter if it was a good deal or not? And the deal is in the eye of the beholder - if you're satisfied, again, why does it matter?
$4 not a good deal?
Used NES's are like $40 around here..... GameStop, GameCrazy, Record Exchange, etc....
Read again Manimal.
Yes it does have a new connector and works just like new, what they actually did was put in a new cartridge slot because the old one would get the games stuck chips broken, thats what the lady at the store told me. Anyways im a complete noob so I NEEDED a NES if I was going to be a collector.
Which post? The 'eye of the beholder' one? From a pricing standpoint ('value', 'deal', etc.), that is excellent. If I see ANY NES system that isn't beat and scratched up or with oxidation on it under $30, I will pick it up.Originally Posted by Ruudos

I think people are being a bit harsh. $4 for a system and two games is always a good deal IMO. Regardless of what games/system it is. I'd've picked it up too, just for the extra NES.

THE NES WAS $50.00 NOT $4.00
lol
Sorry For the confusion guys
No problem dude. For whatever reason I didn't see that second post with the $50 beside the console price (which is my fault, not yours).Originally Posted by Xskaterjake
For the record, $50 for a console as common as the NES - not a good deal
