Looking for import shops that carry SegaMark III games. Preferrably ones that know enough english to complete a transaction.

Great! While you look for Mark III games at import shops, I'll just be clearing out Yahoo! Auctions Japan.

Seriously, you won't find any, and if they do have them, it'll only be a couple titles. I tried. You could always try asking your favorite import shop to try and find some, but if you ask me Yahoo! is better than paying the prices some of these folks charge.

Ok, then are there any better go-between services than Rinkya?

I can't say. I've been looking at Celga. There was another site somebody referred me to (and it's mentioned in an email from them I haven't deleted...no name or URL though) which I've forgotten.

Import stores, though...bad, bad, bad. I've spent the last few years with import stores and had a lot of money wasted. The way to do it is to a.) Find people selling off their collections here at the Buy & Sell forums, and b.) Y!AJ. Those are really the best two options for Mark III (or pretty much anything pre-Mega Drive) stuff.

I had a URL set up which let you browse Yahoo Auctions Japan in Engrish (from Babelfish), here it is:

    General video game stuff:
    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...Falocale%3D0jp

    Mark III:
    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...gory-leaf.html

Master System (hardly anything listed there):
    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...gory-leaf.html

    Have fun, man!

I like this translator better, it seems to do a more accurate job than Babble Fish.

    http://www.ocn.ne.jp/translation/

Type in the address and click the second dot from the left, then hit the gray button.

Holy COW, that looks MUCH better. Anyhow.

In case you don't like editing out %3A and %2F all the time, I've got the normal link to the TV Game category on YAJ:

    http://list4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp...-category.html

Also a link using the new translator Funk Buddy supplied:

That's what I thought. I use Babbel Fish when the characters don't get translated by that site, but over all it does a better job.

I recommend Rising Stuff. A great place to buy retro import games for various consoles.

Except that there's a lot of stuff that they don't have.

I occasionally come across SG-1000/Mark III stuff.

    Do you mean export shops?

Japangamestock.com usually has some in stock but they're almost always loose carts. They seemed kind of pricey too but I haven't seen a lot of other Mark III stuff to compare prices so I could be wrong.

In that case, join the forums and post in the "requests" thread. If they can find it, they'll put it up for sale in their store.

Also if you mean a store in Japan you can walk into, well... they also run a store in Japan but I'm not sure where they're located. Is it difficult to find this stuff in Japan???

Ummm... is this directed at me? I will never buy from Risingstuff, as I can get stuff for much cheaper than they usually sell for. I live in Japan myself. I use them to gauge my own selling prices sometimes.

If I find something they don't have, I'll put it up for sale in my thread here. I've sold Mark III stuff before. Mark III stuff is easy to find, but aside from a few titles, it's tough to find anything specific.

It was only directed at you insofar as you said that RS doesn't have everything. No place does BUT if you join their forums and make a request, they can look for whatever game you want. And by "you" I mean the Topic Creator. The second part was a query for the TC asking whether they meant "a shop in Japan," or "a shop in the US w/ import games," or "an online import shop" as the original post was a bit vague as far as what they meant by "an import shop."
