All that hullabaloo about how everyone was gonna be there, then its over and... NOTHING.
TALK, ya bastards. I want a recap. NOW.

Yeah, I was actually looking forward to hearing how this went, too.
Geesh, even NE Classic Gaming is quick to post all sorts of commentary and pictures and goodies....
Speaking of which, we've got a meet in one week! October 19. Saturday! You're coming right? : )
Hey, someone has to make up for Christian's typical hype!

New England Classic Gaming - Violent fighting to come again!

Gee sorry Joe, I didn't know you cared
Anyway, I was there for most of Saturday. It was a really good time, lots of knitting, we had an amazing polka band...most everyone was up well past 6PM!!!
Seriously, all I remember was a whole lot of cool video games, many many more cool people. Snider-man definitely wins the coolest giveaways award...have to add that to the other award I gave him in the off-topic forum
Got the DP guide, great stuff, btw!!! I just want to know if there are pictures of Tempest playing Para Para Mania...he looked like he wanted to play it SO BAD!!! Myself and a gang from AtariAge were just watching him, and how intent he was watching the other people playing...
They had a fun trivia contest...naming games based on screen shots/ label type/ box art...and then naming what system 10 carts came from, just by the boards inside!!! I am proud to say I finished third!
Finished 4th in the Black Widow tournament, that was a LOT of fun...
Can't say more right now, I'm sure others will fill in the blanks...
Indeed there are. I really didn't want to play, I was just having fun watching the other people do it. I did do "Night of Fire" for Stan at the end of the day when no one was watching...I just want to know if there are pictures of Tempest playing Para Para Mania...he looked like he wanted to play it SO BAD!!!
I came in first in the trivia contest and second in the Black Widow contest (by 200 points). Lots of fun...
I'll post a more complete run down tomorrow, I'm just too tired right now.
Tempest
Out of random curiosity Tempest, what were the prizes? I got a FIghter Stick for my Genesis for the trivia contest, and I would have gotten another one for 3rd in the Black Widow contest (now what would I do with two figher sticks???)
I had so much fun at Cinci Classic. From this board, met Snider-man and ScooterB (briefly, watching the infamous "Snider-Man vs Stan Jr Entombed battle", see Atari Age forums for more detail on that). Met Mike T. from GoodDeal Games, and Stan Jr , Pitfall Aimee, and Big Player from AtariAge. I already knew Al and Tempest.
I played in the Atari 8bit computer tourny of Kaboom! (which we all agreed seems a wee bit slower than the 2600 version, strange indeed) but I got my hat handed to me by a guy named Chuck and his 33,000 point score. I think I scored 12,000 max, but only about 5,000 in the contest itself. Lost in the Baku Baku competition 2nd round. Had a great time playing all kinds of games, from Jaguar to arcade (first time I ever saw Black Widow) to GameCube (Monkey Ball 2!) to 2600 homebrews like Space Treat, Polo, Thrust, and Berzerk VE. Berzerk VE broke my 5200-loving heart -- its voice is far more arcade perfect than the 5200's.
I saw BuyAtari there but didn't get to talk to him.
Loot I picked up: Saturn import Thunderforce V, Dreamcast Import Fighting Vipers 2, Frostbite for 2600 (which I've been searching for , for a long time). Oh yeah, got a Gameboy color and Bomberman & Spider-Man games for it, mostly for the kids. I almost bought the SEGA CDX for $100 but when I went back, it was gone. There was a surprising amount of boxed and good-condition Sega CD stuff there.
Good time!
Here is my take from the show...
and, btw, I could only get 1,600 on Kaboom! Nice to remember how to play the game without jittery paddles!!
