    Default Colecovision showing garbage

I bought a Colecovision with games at a flea market a few weeks back but the graphics aren't displaying right. Nothing is clear in any of the games because it's always filled with a garbled mess. It can't be the games' fault because the bootup screen shows the same problems without a cartridge inserted. I'm hoping this problem isn't too complicated to fix or doesn't involve a power switch replacement like I've read in the other CV threads...can someone help?

It's either the power switch, or the AC adapter. The AC adapter is easier to try another one, but much harder to find. The power switch is easier to find, but harder to install.

CV's seem to be dying left and right of this ailment.

I got one off of ebay with the same problems. Actually it had the power switch problem and it had a loose power supply going into the machine. I took everything apart, and desoldered the switch cover (2 spots) and took the top of the power switch off and cleaned everything out and bent the contacts so they touched harder and put everything back together and voila worked great. The inside of the switch is only 2 brass contacts. So if you can work with small parts you should be able to rebuild the switch.
