Default What's your favorite Nintendo made system or handheld?

What is everybody's favorite NINTENDO system or handheld?
(NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Advance or SP)

I would definatley have to say I have the most memories on the good ole' 8-Bit Nes and that is the system I just had the most fun on! I love my Gamecube that I own now, and definaltey play it more nowadays than any other system I own, But I do love my NES better and played it more than anything back in the day. (I still play my nes weekly though)

    LONG LIVE NINTENDO!!!

My favorite Nintendo system is the SNES. I got more enjoyment out of this than any other cartridge system.

    NES.....Wholesome toaster box greatness.

SNES was good as well. Lots of great rpg games and 2D fighters

But the answer is the NES for sure

The SNES had more classics than any console to date... not to mention the best controllers ever made. Consider games like Super Metroid, FFIV, FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Zelda III, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, DKC, SimCity, Ken Griffey Baseball, MKII, Killer Instinct, Mario RPG, Star Fox, Street Fighter II, Contra III.... etc, etc, etc...

    You get the idea.

The only console that truly deserves to have the word "Super" in its name.

The SNES, best console ever imho. Great line up, games had good graphics and sound, good controller and last but not least, got this one as a kid and i played it the most off all the consoles i have/had. So many good memories on this one.

I actually kinda like the N64, but I still don't understand why a cartridge based system has memory cards... that just seems like bad design to me.

I gotta go with the Gamecube on this one... The only system to impress me more than the Gamecube has was the Dreamcast.

I find it amusing that there are *zero* votes for the SNES (at the time of this posting) despite the multiple odes to its supposed undeniable greatness. Was the poll added after the fact or are some people unfamiliar with the concept of a poll?

To reply to Dr. Morbis's comment about why there aren't any more checks for the SNES? I agree and don't know why, it was and still IS one of the best systems.
Also, for Nintendo 64 to have memory cards when it is cartridge bases is true, does seem kind of designed wierd. I am not knocking the n64 or anything though, I do play mine about every other day still. Maybe there wasn't enough space on the cartridge for the memory spot, or something?? Who knows

I picked N64! I mean, NES is great and all, but my Mom wouldn't let me get an Atari when I was like 6 because this "Nintendo" was coming out soon and it was going to be better. So fuck that thing.

Anway, I chose the 64 because me and my friends used to play WCW vs. nWo: World Tour for hours on end. We even used to put it on computer only mode and gamble on which wrestler would win the match. Can't really beat that fun factor.

I think I picked the NES (I've been a little preoccupied lately...) so it was either that or the Virtual Boy.

GCN for me. The NES was good, and had good games at the time, and the SNES had *some* really good games, but I'm going with the GCN because it's the most fun a jaded gamer like myself has had in a long time. It was probably a lot easier to impress a 10-year-old me; the GCN takes the cake because it impresses a 25-year-old me who now feels like he did when he was 10 and playing those "great" games.

The NES all the way. Many hundreds of hours spent playing mario, and trying to shoot the dog in duck hunt

Nintendo's intended purpose for the Controller Pak's were to allow the transfer of data from your console to another console (e.g. take your game files to a friend's house), a similar design to the Xbox and it's memory units.

This idea didn't really proliferate in the way Nintendo meant it to, and eventually the controller pak was resigned to storing amounts of data too large to be saved to the Game Pak (e.g Top Gear Rally's paintjob's, Re-Volt's user created tracks).

However, many third party companies decided that to cut costs on the 'expensive' cartridge units, their cartridges didn't feature any battery backup - hence the use of the Controller Pak.

Anyway - back to the poll.

I vote for the SNES. Nintendo just did so many things right with this machine. Excellent in-house titles (Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid), *arguably* Rare's best games (DKC series, Killer Instinct) and a huge supply of third party games from the likes of Squaresoft and Konami.

Add to that hardware that had the edge on the Mega Drive/Genesis, a perfect controller and an level accessibility that only the PlayStation seems to have been able to reproduce.

Maybe Nintendo should look back at the SNES to help them see that they once knew how to make great hardware/software.

Second behind SNES I would put the great Nintendo 64. Whilst not able to reach the heights of the SNES's greatness, an excellent piece of technology nonetheless.
