It's certainly not dirt common, but there's never been a shortage of these on eBay. Noob's gone wild.

dont new people on Ebay research anything before they bid an insane price on anything? I had some lady buy a pair of Hawaiian glasses for $81. I have never seen them go for more than $10. Good for me, sucks for her.

    Default Hmm

Is it just me, or are Bubble Bobble games on all systems going for more than they should be worth? Bubble Bobble for the PAL PS1 is now selling for £35 - £40 on a regular basis, and as far as I am aware it isn't especially rare. Even CEX only sell it for £12!!

And I have seen it go for £20 - £30 for the PAL Saturn, when it should only be £10 - £15. Plus I have sold at least two copies for the NES for £20 or more each, when the going price should be about £10.

I guess Bubble Bobble is a game that everyone has heard about, so it will always attract a lot of noob attention ... long may the fascination last, because I have certainly made plenty of money out of it

And I am keeping a firm hold on my Saturn "Bubble Bobble & Rainbow Islands" ... not least because I am still hopelessly addicted to Rainbow Islands. And I can't kill that damn vampire boss!!

Yeah, I'd noticed that aswell. It's one of the most common SMS games that I'm still missing, but every copy I've seen recently has been going for £10+. New Zealand Story is doing continually good business aswell.

Ditto to Vroomfunkels comment about the Saturn version aswell
Except that the vampire boss is no trouble for Rainbow Islands masters like myself

Bubble Bobble on most systems do go for quite a bit, but check out this craziness for the PSX ...

Agreed, but the sound sucks. The sms audio in this game is vastly inferior to the audio in the nes version.

You know, I don't care! I must have that!

Was it UK only or is there a US one? Or does the UK one work on a US console? I must have ti! I'm disappointed there was no Genesis version. I'd love some BB on my Nomad. And even with one on a Game Gear with the converter...

No US version, but the European release plays fine on a US SMS.

How did the graphics compare to the NES one? Is there a ROM somewhere?

The SMS version has much better graphics (except for the score at the top - I don't like where they put it). The NES version looks like a rush job to me. You can compare at Raccoonlad's site here:

    http://raccoonlad.topcities.com/compare/compare.html

Qualifier: remember that graphics are just one aspect of the gaming experience.

    Yeah, ALMOST.

I thought the NES version of Fantasy Zone looked nicer and more 3D-ish than the SMS one.

NES Ms. Pac-Man looks truer to the Arcade original.

And NES Smash TV just looks plain nicer with the floors.

And I'm a little torn on the SMS Off-Road. They both have some realistic qualities. And now that I know one exists for the SMS (Which I don't have. I have the NES, SNES and Genny ones.) I must find it!
