    Default E-Reader in collections

I was counting my systems and games, and I cant figure out whether to count the E reader as a system or not. I also cant figure out if i should count it's games in my game collection. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I personally don't count it as a system, but I do count its "games" as games.

This beings up an interesting point.

I do not think it is a "System". Just as the 32X is not a "System". Just as the 64DD is not a "System". They are all add-on's.

I classify all my Sega CD and 32X games as Genesis games and put them on the <Genesis page>.

If I had an eReader, I would classify its games with my Game Boy games. And the Reader itself with "Accessories" or "Hardware". (Most likely Hardware as my 32X and SCD are also under Hardware.)

Basic rule. If it plugs into another console, it is an add-on, and any games that go in it belong to the "Mother-System". The acceptions to this rule are the Super Game Boy and the Game Boy Player. And if Nintendo had made the Super-8, it would also be an acception. These are more along the lines of "Converters".

Of course, in all technicality, I should really keep my Original GB games separate from my Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games as they're all technically different. But for now I will have them all together. And when I get my Reader, it will go with Game Boy.

I agree with the other opinions for the most part, I consider the E-reader a subset of the GBA section of my list, so in short it and the games fall under GBA

Same as the Datach Joint ROM system, really.

I'd probably list it along with other periperhals, and the cards along with other GBA games with a little note that it's an e-Reader card.

    That's what I'd do.

Yeah....this is an iffy subject here. On one hand it IS just an add on, but on the other hand it has games that can only be played on that.

I think I'd add it as a system, but If I were making a webpage Id put it under the Game Boy Advance Category and not a seperate category.

I do count the 32X and Sega CD as systems myself...why? I don't really know, I just do. Ahhh, confusing confusing game world.

I think I would probably name it as just an add-on, but as for how this can be simply an add-on and the 32X and SCD are systems, I'd say it's because of the format of the games. The varying mediums of game storage on the 32X, SCD and Genny make them all different systems. So maybe the e-Reader is a system too...

I think that the system is just an add-on as does most eveyone else agree,as is my 32X, my Gameboy Player. I dont see it as a System, because it cany function on its own, like the 32X or GBP it need the base system for it to work. On my excel spreadsheet ive got a seperate page for the e-Reader cards, cause they are their own games, that and the need to list all 250+ Animal Crossing cards (some of which are games in their own rite).... i do know that on my IGN page they put the e-Reader games in with my GBA games, but for my 32X, those games get their own section.... maybe it is the medium they are in, as above poster said....

Well, either way, there should be a game list for them...it gets difficult though:

Sometimes Nintendo Power throws a free e-Reader card in the magazine, and I hear there's some exclusive cards in one of the Pokemon movie DVDs....these things are everywhere, it seems.

Tough indeed to make a DP list.

I really don't count either as games or systems. I do love my e-reader but it's just misc. for right now

Kind of branching off the main subjects, but an E-reader collection intrigues me. In theory, it sould be fairly easy to complete, right?

I've got all of the main games (DK3, excite bike, etc etc) but was wondering what the Animal Crossing, SMB3, Pokemon packs were like. Are the cards in each all the same, or are they random like ordinary baseball card packs?

Also, does anyone know of a complete list of e-Reader cards?

I have a complete e-Reader set minus Pokemon....I refuse to buy these cards.. Other than that I have all the game cards, the smb3, and all 4 series of animal crossing cards, plus the limited release cards...it was really easy to get it complete....a few animal crossing cards were hard to get, but everything else was just buy the pack and have the set.

animal crossing cards are 4 different series and each pack has different cards...there are like 200 different cards...see this site for more information.....http://www.colba.net/~pixelboy/erzone/plain.htm this site includes lists and what not

    System- No, just an addon
Games- yes, but count by the packs, not cards

I keep all mine sealed and hanging on the wall. I have opened some that I wanted though. Like the Animal Crossing ones.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

I just wish they had used a better storage system. What does Nintendo expect you to do? Keep them all in a box? Throw them away? Seriously! They're cards, but not just single cards, you need a bunch at once to make a game or do something. Lose one, and it's over.
