Yesterday my son yelled that there was water in our basement. In the 8 years we've been there this has never happened before but due to a storm, and melting snow, half of my basement was under water. Fortunately I bought six new book cases last month so most of my stuff was off the floor. Only one box was in the path of the water. Inside the box was my collection of Atari 2600 & 7800 instruction manuals.
I quickly moved the box and opened it up to get the instruction manuals out. Fortunately the box was thick and the water didn't seep through the bottom yet. But I was panicking and not thinking so I just grabbed a handful of manuals to get them out of the box as soon as possible. But because I wa doing it so fast, a dozen or so manuals fell out of my hand and right into a puddle! The ones that fell were Xonox and Starpath and two of the Starpaths that got wet were Survival Island and Swords of Saros - probably the rarest of the bunch!
I dried the manuals out but they're no longer in pristine shape
