I am currently winning it on ebay but don't know how high I should go on it. Is it rare? What is it worth?

bought mine off of hu680 for about 50, I think it was worth it
Got mine for $20, and I think it's worth it. Seems that a few first year titles don't work on it for some reason, but I'd say go for it.
Not too rare, but different.
They're rare... but not overly so. Luckily, since the machine is equivalent to a Genesis and SegaCD welded together, the price maxes out at just slightly higher than the combo itself would go for.... so $50-60 would probably be about the highest I would go.
It's a cool system though, and convenient if only because it means you can free up a power outlet. It's a nice conversation piece too, since most people don't recognize it.

DP Guide say $40, but I don't think $50-60 is unreasonable. It all depends on if you really want it.
I hear that it does S-video out. That's definitely a feature that I'd love to have on a Genesis and SegaCD.
This is something that any self respecting Game Guru should know!
It does depend...the Wondermega goes for more (and yet more, depending on the model), I think, but the X'Eye is by no means common.
I'll be watching this auction myself, not bidding though.

its a really cool console to have, whatever its worth! i'd venture the rarity is higher than the value, it doesnt do anything a genny cd set up wont, but in terms of finding one i dont think very many were sold at all. i found one this year after 5 years of hardcore hunting, i must have seen 250 gennys before i came across this thing in a thrift. as much as i love the look and ease of use its not a suitable replacement for my purposes, i still have a genny deck out for the 32x and power base.
NEW ENGLAND CLASSIC GAMING-NEXT TRADEMEET pretty soon... IN BOSTON
It has features none of the sega cd systems have.
The only thing i noticed was it wouldnt use my Pro Action Replay.
Tell you what, go out today and hit up all your local game shops
and see if you can find an XEYE , chances are you wont.
Lead, Follow , or get the F*** out of my way !
there is one at a shop here in denver. they want $80 for it. I hate when a store has a huge collection/assortment of stuff, but it is all overpriced. I suppose this is why they have so much stuff in the first place. :P
Funny, this auction is up to $51 already and has FIVE DAYS left. If you want to go grab that X-Eye, I'm sure somebody would be happy to pay you for itOriginally Posted by jgenotte

Ugh, I just couldn't go any higher since I already bought a Game Theory Admiral and Extreme Flash Advance. Oh well, maybe next time.

As far as I know, it's compatible with pretty much all the Genesis hardware as well... I hear the 32X works with it anyways... not sure about the Power Base Converter.
In case you've never seen one, here's a picture (stolen from an eBay auction some time ago):
Frankly, I'd rather have a CDX... but the X'Eye is cool too.

I have a cdx and love it, it is a great space saver. Unfortunately I don't like it because it won't play certain games.
