I swear I had posted in the thread before but apparently not!
My first console was the Mattel Intellivision II that my parents got me from K-B Toys in 1983. It seems like it was around summer. I had a grand total of three games for it and all of them were "Space" something. (One of them was the one with the overlays that had "triforces" on them and made "fart noises" as the AVGN put it...)
Someone mentioned before that most people's first console was also their favorite. While I liked the Intellivision and I enjoy playing Intellivision Lives! on Gamecube, it is far from my favorite. My favorite console is actually the third (if you count the Commodore 64 as a video game console...I know that's all I played on it!) one I got: the Nintendo Entertainment System. It may not be the system I have the most games for, but it is the one I have the most love for.
My first system was an NES because someone in my house had it already. I remember playing Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. We also had Tetris, Double Dragon II and Super C, but I wasn't allowed to play the last two.
Later around 2002 I got an N64. I read in a catalog that it was $300, so me and my dad saved up the money, then bought it for $30 at a thrift store. Don't remember what games we bought for it originally, but it was so exciting to have it. Played a lot of Banjo and Mario 64. I played Banjo so much that I posted a glitch I found on Gamewinners when I was 5! Back then I was Mario 64 Man.
A Nes clon called Super Casel... I'm still looking for it

My first system was an Atari 2600.
Christmas 1987 - NES. Had been obsessed with owning one for the better part of a year when some of my friends started getting theirs. Managed to convince my parents to get me the basic console + Super Mario Bros. No light gun, no ROB, but all I needed was SMB. My older sister who was an avid tennis player convinced me to get the black box Tennis as my second game but it wasn't long after for my birthday but probably spring of '88 I somehow snagged Legend of Zelda then began saving up money that summer for SMB2. Still the greatest Christmas present I have ever received.

Console of the Month: PlayStation
My first system wasn't a "system" necessarily, more of a plug-and-play, it was a Coleco Colortron Pong machine. Eventually my brother and I were given an Atari 2600 with Space Invaders and Asteroids, which I consider a real "system". The first one I bought with my own money was the newly released NES - and maybe two weeks later, an Atari 2600 Jr. to replace my original (damaged the on switch too much from frying games).
I'm surprised I hadn't posted here already in the nearly 11.5 years I've been here. If you count it as a handheld: Game Boy Advance, 2002. If you count it as a console it was a Nintendo 64 in 2003.
