I was born much later than the majority of you guys- right around the point when the industry was transitioning from 16-bit hardware to 32 and 64 bits (I was born in '96). My first ever video game console, you may expect to be a PSX or N64 but actually it was a classic Apple II computer. My mother purchased it for me in 1998 and along with it came many boxed games for it- a lot of them ports of arcade games like "Donkey Kong", "Dig Dug", and "Jungle Hunt".

As far as actual, pure consoles my first was really a PSX. I got it in January of 2001 as a birthday gift, and with it I received the three Gex games out for the system. It broke down from overuse around 2003, but I still have many of the classic games I loved back then like Gex and Spyro the Dragon.

The first system I can remember playing (this was around 1996) was my uncle's SNES that he got for Christmas. I played some Mario World on it when I visited him, and then he got a PlayStation in 1999, and I literally begged my parents for months for one. Then, in September (or October, can't remember) of 1999, my parents gave in and I got one of my favorite game systems of all time. I never regretted getting a PlayStation, and I still play it to this day.

My first game console was an Atari 2600 and this was my all time worst game console of all time. The second would be the 7800, which I received not long after the 2600. Luckily these two horrible systems didn't ruin my enthusiasm for video games all together, as my love for them would fully bloom with the arrival of the Nes--the first great US video game console.

The first one that I remember my family having was a Roberts Rally IV or something like that. It's just a pong console.
The next console I had was my very own Sega Genesis.

The first system I can remember playing was a Commodore 64, I think. It would have had to have been in '93 or '94. My family also had Atari 2600, Odyssey2, and NES.

The first system that was mine would have to be a Nintendo 64 in probably 2003 or 2004. Then after that, a PlayStation.

My first brand new system was a PS2 in late 2006, I believe.

Since, I have acquired many more systems.
I collect for: Odyssey2, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, NES, SNES, N64, SMS, Genesis, Dreamcast, PSX, and TI-99/4A

My VERY first game console was, technically, a Game Boy Color, which I believe I got in either '99 or '00. My first game for it was Rocket Power: Gettin' Air, which is a horrible game, but I was obsessed with Rocket Power in those days.
My first what I consider true console was a Sega Genesis which, believe it or not, I bought at the Oshkosh Wisconsin Air Show in around '03.
They had a whole bunch of weird tents off away from the main stuff... one sold old games.

I had a hand-me-down Atari 2600 when I was, like 3 (I still remember playing my then-13-year-old brother at Combat) and a Vic-20, but my first real console would be my Master System when I was 8. Some good memories right there.

I vaguely remember my parents having an Intellivision, but then our aquarium busted and ruined it. Then it would have to be the NES.

Mines was the SNES (the one that came bundled with Donkey Kong Country xD) on one late December of 1997. The moment the system was set up, me and my little brother were deciding which of the two games we should try out first (the choice was either Super Mario RPG or Donkey Kong Country) and we chose Super Mario RPG because it was in 3D. We were disappointed that it was only a one player game but we took turns battling the enemy. I missed those days. ^-^

Mine was an Atari 2600 back in 1985. My dad bought it off the neighbor kid across the street who was selling it to buy a drum kit, if I recall.

I remember playing Donkey Kong and Adventure that night, and loving them.

The first console I personally bought was a brand new NES toploader in 1993.
