Default What snes games do you have the fondest memories of?

Mine would have to be in this order... SMRPG I spent countless days playing this game. Must of beat the damn thing 3 times. SMW. It was my first snes game my dad ever bought for me, and prolly my favorite of alltime. Super Metroid, not my favortie meroid game, but still worthy to the series. All snes treasures.

    All hail nintendo \^_^/

Since I've had an SNES since 1992, there are way too many to list all of the big ones... but here are the highlights:

    Super Mario World:

This was the first Super Nintendo game I played, and I hadn't felt so that excited about a game since Super Mario 3. And Mario riding Yoshi was just amazing!

I still remember how amazed I was when I found the Star World, Top Secret Area, and Special Zone.

    Super Metroid:

Another game that amazed me when I first played it, especially the bosses, the wrecked ship and when you use a power bomb to blow up the glass so you can access Maridia from Brinstar. I always borrowed this game from my cousin as a kid and wasn't able to get a copy myself until I started buying SNES games again last year.

    Donkey Kong Country:

The graphics were incredible, and at that time, like nothing I had ever seen before.

The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past

Still my favorite Zelda in the series.

    Final Fantasy 3

Everything that happened in this game was incredible. The first FF game I ever played. I really miss this one.

    Chrono Trigger

I miss this one too. I remember beating Magus and then finding out it wasn't the end of the game. It was my cousins copy and I wish I had the money to buy this from my cousin when he sold it to Game Crazy.

    Super Mario RPG

A concept I thought could never be done, and done wonderfully. I miss this game too.

    Claymates

I had borrowed it from a friend back in the day and always wanted a copy for myself, and I got it last year. A very underrated game imo.

    Super Mario All-Stars
I never owned Super Mario 2 for NES, so it was nice to finally have a copy. Playing Lost Levels was great too.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 3

I spent so many hours on this game, half of them probably being marathon runs of 8-12 hours straight. I played through every starting point on both difficulty levels and it seemed like a new experience every time. Must be the allure of strategy games.

Oh and I always started with Sun Jian (or Sun Ce or Sun Quan depending on the scenario)

SMRPG... my first RPG... so many memories do I have with it. Like trying to figure out that the ship password was "PEARLS", or firguring out how to beat the Axem Rangers. The day that I picked up a SNES at a flea market, I went on eBay and BIN'd the game and the guide. I didn't need the guide, but wanted it for the pictures.

Definitely FF3 tops my list. It's my favorite RPG of all time, bar none, and one of my favorite games ever. Also IMO the last good FF.

Other absolute can't live without em SNES faves of mine:

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
    Rock N' Roll Racing
    Super Bomberman
    Castlevania IV
    Mega Man X
    Demon's Crest
    Super Mario World
    Soulblazer
    Chrono Trigger
    Super Ghouls N' Ghosts

I give notable mention to these as well...fond memories, but not my FAVORITE games:
    Actraiser 2
    Secret of Mana
    Ogre Battle
    Super Metroid
    Road Runner's Death Valley Rally

    In order:

Shadowrun - I remember writing a guide for, since there wasn't one. My friend and I played this religiously until we finished it. A definite overlooked gem.

Secret of Mana - The first RPG I ever finished.

Pilotwings - This one has probably gotten the most play on my SNES.

    F-Zero
    - The first SNES game I ever saw, and one of my favorite racers ever.

Actraiser - An SNES defining title. Graphics and sound are termendous. And it's fun, too.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

    -Wild guns
    -Doom troopers
    -Super smash TV
    -Metal Kombat: Falcons revenge
    -METAL WARRIORS!
    -King of the Monsters 2
    -Death and Return of Superman
    -Sky Blazer
    -King of Dragons
-Killer Instinct (ok, not so offbeat)

I can't believe no one has mentioned Megaman X yet. Shame on all of you.

Super Mario World was a blast as a kid. I always did (and still do) prefer SMB 3 for NES though. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the game that got me started on the SNES, and one of the main reasons I bought one. I also have some early memories of Super Star Wars, Super Smash TV, and Ghoul Patrol. I can remember trying in vain to just beat the first few levels with my brother in Super Smash TV. Damn that was a hard game.

    Super Metroid

Played this game through till I could beat it in 44 minutes of play time. Best. Game. Ever.

    Final Fantasy III

Super fond memories of this one. One of the only games I've ever played where I actually had feelings for the characters. I was so depressed when I finally beat it cuz I missed them already. And I'll never forget the goosebumps I got when Celes starting singing in the opera. That sequence in the game alone was a system seller for Nintendo. When members of my family would talk about buying a Genesis, all I'd have to do is show them the opera sequence in FFIII, and suddenly, their money was spent on a SNES instead. I was such a Nintendo fanboy.

    Secret of Mana

Winter of late '93, early '94 will always be known as The Winter of Mana for my brother and me. We got the game for Christmas '93 and spent our entire vacation playing it. Then, we had a massive blizzard that kept us outta school for another 2-3 weeks. It was unbelievable. 5 weeks of SNES games, but the favorite was Secret of Mana. Everyday, we'd go outside and play in the snow with our friends down the street (even rode his dad's snowmobile). Then, when it got dark, we'd come inside and play Secret of Mana with 3 players for many hours. Man... talk about fond memories. Great RPG party game... and no school to boot!

    Super Punch-Out!!

To this day, my slowest knockout time stands at 18.16 seconds, and that's on Mr. Sandman. Every other knockout record I own is below 18 seconds. So, needless to say, I played this game till my thumbs were raw. Best. Boxing. Game. Ever.

No question about it: Super Mario World. I think SMW is still one of the leading games in my collection as far as hours logged... I played that game inside and out.

Of course there are too many titles to mention but the top ones off my head that stick out, in no particular order are:
    Super Mario World
    SMW 2: Yoshi's Island
    DK Country 1
    Super Mario Kart
    Super Ghouls + Ghosts
    TMNT: Turtles in Time
    Mario All-Stars

he he lots of memories.. lots

Gradius 3.. damn I played that game so many times.. so many that it was to the point where I never died, even on arcade mode. but that game rocked

Super Mario Allstars.. What can I say? Probably one of the finest additions to teh SNES.. all gamers must own this and never part with it!

Super Mario world.. ahh the first SNES game I played, and I still love it. I love doing the go to the end of the game without even beating world 2 yet thing.

Super Metroid: Another game I played so many FUGGIN times. I can beat it in 1 hour with 27% items, and never dying. I don't even use saves as you waste valuble time going to them.

Super Mario RPG: Probably one of the greatest RPG's of all time.. I loved it.. loved it. loved it.. Did I mention that I loved it?

Mario Paint: durring 5 years of my life, In my spare time, I made a movie with the game (started at age 14, and finaly quit at age 19, I am now 22), yes its possible. It was inspired by Mario RPG, and was 6 hours long. though sadly, it was never finished, and the project was just one of those happless projects.. but if you are interested, try the link of my vid capture I just got of it, only once scene, and its pretty compressed.. http://www.kristhenewquest.com/ByteScene.zip
please only download once. While I have 35gig bandwith, I don't want to go over that, and the file is 33 megs.. I hope it works too, I had to resume the upload cuz it was so big.

So yeah, the SNES has probably the best gaming memories I ever had.
