Default 50" VF cab, monitor is dim

I just got a nice 50" VF2 cab... but the monitor is pretty dim. From what I've read, this is probably dust on the lenses and inside the screen. I have some passing knowledge of what needs to be done, but does anyone know of a sort of tutorial for doing this? I am afraid to try it with the amount of knowledge I have now and haven't been able to turn anything up with google...

I've never actually worked on a 50" monitor, but I've done a lot of work on smaller arcade monitors... I guess the first thing I'd do is make sure that the adjustments are set correctly... like there might be an adjustment for brightness, and definately one called screen on the flyback... try turning those a little, that should tell you whether something isn't adjusted correctly, or if it's something else.

It's a projection monitor, so those don't really apply. thanks anyway.

FWIW: I solved the brightness problem. I took teh screens off and vacuumed out the entire cabinet, cleaned the screens inside and out, and most importantly cleaned off the projector lenses... the screen is bright and sharp again... now to adjust it for color and focus and it should be like a brand new 50" RGB monitor (YEAH BABY).
