    Default Interested in Mod'ed X-Box

As the subject says I'm looking for a mod'ed x-box to play around with. I plan to use it to run linux and serve as a media center PC in addition to playing games. If you have one let me know what you are looking for in terms of cash or trade. I would actually prefer to work out a trade, but depending on price I might be willing to spend. If got some decent trade goodies including a few prototypes that I'd be willing to let go. PM me with what you have and what you want.

You can just buy one at http://www.modchipman.com . But since they put a new HD in, that can be pricey. Alternatively you can buy a chip there only and mod it yourself.

Thanks for the tip, but had you read my post you would see my preference is to trade for one. I only want to pay if I absolutely need to.

If I can't find one for trade, I'd probably just get one retail and install the chip myself. I was hoping to get one already done to save me the effort but not if it will cost me a ton.

I definitly recommend doing it yourself. Modchip installers are only good for PS2 chip installs if that. The xbox mod chip is much like a psone mod chip and requires literally no skills to get the chip in. The rest of the process could be a bit lengthy but should go smoothly if you read all the directions. As well, I don't think you'll find many people willing to sell theirs, let alone trade. But that's just a matter of personal opinion and by all means you could get 5 pm's by morning and you can take your pick
