Uh... Crap.
I didn't even think that it might be a legit, power only cable.
USB->USB is a USB->USB. It can't be anything else. But USB->GBA might not be. Damn it. Gotta try that when I get home.
EDIT:
The back of my GBA seems to say that one of the connectors is for power only (the one it uses) so that's not a good sign.
