Default NES Game axe - handheld nintendo.....

The nes game axe. I want one of these. They go for a lot on ebay though but i would pay like 50 for one that is boxed. That would be so cool to have a portable nintendo. Does anyone have one of them?

I would like a handheld NES, the Game Axe or a homebrewed device. As it is, a PDA is almost as fun (but it's just not the same).

The game axe does seem like a pretty cool system, I've heard the screen sucks on it though. Still it is a portable nes

I wish i was smarter at electronic kinds stuff so I could make my own handheld nes. that would be so hot. An even better and prolly existing item would be a handheld nes emulator to play roms on. Like a little system and there was a cartridge with all the nes games on it.

Well, this Adfami thing might be good... then again it might not. But, the GameAxe screen isn't that great from what I hear anyway.

The GBA doesn't look pretty there, but it does the job.

I like how the adapter is for famicon games only and you need another adapter for the famicon adapter to play nes games. So you gotta get the game boy, the famicon adapter, and the nes adapter....kinds dumb but id pay 20 bucks for all that at the most.

I have a GameAxe and I never use it.

The Screen is terrible. More blurry than any other portable ever.
The nes adapter is awful. The games stick out so far that the smalles bump resets the game.
And the sound isn't that good.

Pass on it and just do a GBA SP with a Flash Cart.

Thanks, well that's cheaper than what I see most Game Axe's sell for. Not including the adaptor of course. I imagine the SP's screen is a lot better also. I just woder how well the adaptor will format the games on the SP's screen.

I had one for about 2 years. I played it only a couple of time (mostly hooked up to the TV). Using NES carts on the Game Axe is just a pain in the ass. IF you can get a cart to work, chances are it will slip out mid-game (unless you just plug in the board itself into the adaptor).

The picture quality varies per system. From what I hear, some are very crappy and some are just slightly crappy. It did look perfectly normal on a TV though (think Sega Nomad)

Basicly, it just collected dust on my shelf. When the time came last year for me to finally get an Xbox, my girlfriend allowed it (call me Kunta) only if I sold off $100 worth of stuff. Well, since I don't really own much that I could bear to part with, I sold my GameAxe on eBay.

The only thing I miss about it is the box with the hilarious broken english in the product description and the screenshot of Tomba on the display on the front of the box.

I have one also and it was one of the most disappointing VG purchases of my life.

I have 2 of them, and the screens are dark in some spots but I still like them. you should get a game theory admiral sytem, it looks like a gomeboy advance and has a better screen.

I probably wouldn't go for a GameZxe unless someone gave it to me.

Actually, I've been planning on plunking down whatever it takes to play old NES games on a GBA no matter how much. But I can't find what I want.

First off, it NEEDS to work with a Mac. 100% Mac. No "Need PC to set it up, but you can copy files over from a Mac." Screw that shit. I want to be able to do this without having to change my computer. I can supply the ROM's. Someone just supply the device.

    Anything like that? Anything? Link?

I didn't find the Game Axe to be that bad when I had gotten it. Now since the Game Theory Admiral is out, it is even better then the Game Axe. Great battery life, clear screen.
