Just realized I never updated you guys in the right post.

About two days ago I got the official papers from sony, and had them notarized, signed and sent back Priority Mail. The list on the sheet reads:
    - Plasma TV
    - PlayStation 2
    - Eye Toy
    - Surround Sound System

Thankfully they gave me the Eye Toy since I was never officially asked which one I wanted. No word on the color. Now I just sit here and wait for the bling bling. Next time I'll update will be when they arrive.

    Again, thanks guys!

I say it wasn't even a contest. And it shouldn't have been; after your video, they should have been looking in the mirror saying "Damn, this guy's spent so much for our stuff... the lEAST we can do is give him something back!"

Congrats, man! And can I borrow Amplituide?

Oh, man! That's some serious prizage. But, why would they give you a PS2? Isn't it assumed that since you're the biggest PlayStation fan, you'd have a PS2? ... whatever. Did you make a copy of the "official papers" before you sent them back? That would look well framed on a wall.

It's a limited edition colored PS2....with Sony choosing the color. Yellow or Pink PS2, here I come.

And..I probably should have made copies of those damn papers. DOh!

    Hey Everyone!

Well, the bling bling finally came, and while the TV isn't what I expected, the over all package is insanely cool, and I have no regrets!

Here's what the final low down was:

    1. Sony 23 inch Wega LCD Monitor/TV. I'm actually more pleased with this than I am a plasma, because no harm will come to it from my video games. That and it fits on my desk, quite nicely.

    2. The 'stereo surround sound system' is actually the big surprise. It's the DVD Dream System by Sony, which means it's the SSS system plus the 5 DVD / CD changer and speakers, etc. I can not WAIT to hook this up. Too bad my room isn't exactly the right shape for them

    3. The Limited Edition PS2 was the Snow white one, which rules because a) I loved th white one that came with the import GT4 demo and b) if I was insane enough I could custimize it to look liek the Transformer Jazz's hood racing strip. (geek off)

It also came with the specially colored stand.

    4. They Sent me BOTH the Eye Toy and the Network Adaptor. Rock on!

I have begun taking pictures, but my server is down (being moved) so as soon as that's back up, I'll post the pics.

I've never really had luck when it came to contests nor ever really had killer set-ups (most of my electronics were hand me downs), so this really is like, the end all be all prize pack I could have won.

I'll be e-mailing Sony a huge thank you e-mail tomorrow after work.

So, again, one final time, I want to THANK EVERYONE OF YOU who helped vote for me and get me the awards. It's people like you that make me realize I never want to leave the gaming hobby, ever.

    Cheers!

Dangerboy, you do know that the Colored PS2's are limited to 1000 per system, and I think are the only limited PS2's released in the states? When they came out they were 314 (or 319 I dont remember which) when the regular PS2's were something like 250. I remember seeing them all at the Meteron, for the EQ launch, the Yellow one almost came home, but I just couldnt commit myself to the extra cost for a PS2 at the time, especially when I wasnt going to get as much cash as i wanted to justify the selling off of my regular PS2 for it.

Either way good stuff and congrats again

    So jealous..

You are suck a lucky guy. And I'll ask you one more time..

    Can I have it all?

WHITE PS2? Now THAT'S one I wouldn't mind having for normal price.

Can't wait to see the pictures. How long is the server gonna be down? You could start a thread at AtariAge and link to that page since AA allows attachments. Or put them on Yahoo!

Or I can wait. Can't wait to see the stuff!

    Jasaco:
You ever notice that current pic of Natalie....she looks like the Ridge Racer 5 girl ?

So after realizing the server was up on schedule (I had the wrong password), here is the collage of pics. From Left to clockwise-right:

    1. What I saw when I opened the door getting home from work. My gramma, who is usually in bed at 7:30, stayed up till 10:00pm just to see the look on my face. She was not let down. If you look closely, you can still see where my fingers indented the box from hugging it so hard...

    2. The 23inch Wega displaying god's (Primus' ?) gift to PS2 trade demos. Not only is the TV gorgeous, but it makes PS2 games look gorgeous. Only 12 more hours before I secure the XBox Component cables....drool....the speaker system on the TV is actually pretty impressive in its own right. You can see one of the SS speakers on the left.

    3. The booty call. The PS2 is rather interesting. I thought the systems were molded in the color; they're actually professionally painted, resealed and re-run through the spray jets for the words and PS2 emblem. Collector's useless FYI: These systems are in boxes with no visible window for the serial #. All plastic bags were replaced with soft 'fuzzy'bags (like the ones monitors are packed in) holding everything.

The paint job and finish give the system a weird, almost porcelian feel to it. I'll be honest; I am so terrified of this thing getting ruined that after I took the snap shots I put it back in the box, and went back to my original ps2. If this thing really is 1 of a 1000 made, it'll stay nice and safe until a specal ocassion arrives.

    4. The DVD Dream System. I had no idea the sytem looked this cool. The discs are inserted like a car stereo deck, and the buttons control everything. My desk is a giant L shape, adn this is under the left long side, so the buttons are at my finger tips. Currently listening to vintage U2 in Surround sound.

    5. A Pic of the bar codes on the system, plus its description "Europeon Car Color Collection".

Today the Sony Rep came in and congratulated me. Apparently she mentioned to a higher up how the 'Biggest PSX Fan" was one of her clients, and they're supposed to be e-mailing me for an interview for Sony's internal Business magazine.

All in all, a very good week. All of which was capped off by finally, finally getting this:

My personal, exclusive clear case version of the homebrew 2600 game "Climber 5". That's my artwork on the cover. It's autographed by the programmer too. Yay.

So in the end, it was a damn fine week. By the weekend I should finally have timew to hook up the Network Adapter and EyeToy. I haven't been this happy / relaxed in a long time.

    Cheers.

    Jason

Yes. That is an awesome looking PS2. I ma jealous. If I had one of those and a non-existant Xbox to PS2 controller adapter, I'd be happier than I am.

You are so lucky, and deserving. God knows I'd be forever collecting nearly every game for ANY system.
