    Default X-Wing

Ok who played this game? Did you like it?

I played it a ton. I had all the medals and awards you could get for each ship. I was on the last mission the Deat Star run and what happens? My brother reloads the computer and all my game data is gone. Played it some after that but never got as far.

I loved the game play. The way you could switch the power of the shields to the front and back or off to give you more speed. The dog fighting was a lot of fun. The graphics and sound where great.

I was a fan of Tie Fighter myself.

Like Kaine, I too flew for the Empire. Tie Fighter was an excellent change of pace as the perception was now from the Empire's point of view, which saw themselves as protectors and law enforcers. Quite refreshing.

Just as a heads up: EBGames has "updated" versions of Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance for $4.99 each. Not sure if X-Wing itself is a part of this as I didn't see any copies. Tie Fighter was revamped so it can run on Windows 95/98 using DirectX. For we Win XP users, we have to run the game in Win 9X mode (I've got mine set to Win 98) and we have to NOT use 3D Hardware mode (selectable before you fly a mission).

I went through the training circle last night and flew a couple combat training missions to get my space legs back. Man that was fun! Graphics, even though they use software 3D acceleration, flowed smooth and looked pretty good The game ran perfect on my AMD XP 2200+.

I also saw Rebel Assault II, Battle for Naboo, Jedi Knight and Dark Forces for $4.99 a pop as well but I didn't see if RA2 or DF were updated for Windows machines.
