Default Odyssey2 Homebrew "Planet Lander" at PackratVG??

On this page, from which I will soon be ordering the wondrous KTAA cart, Packrat has another O2 homebrew listed as "coming soon," Planet Lander.

Anyone else heard about this? It's got a real cool-looking label design.

Thanks to Packrat for carrying this stuff, by the way (and at a great price too, I might add). Man, I'd just about give up all other collecting activity if the O2 had as lively a homebrew scene as the 2600 or 5200.

I don't know what it is, but I'm watching it too, awaiting the arrival of my KTAA...

Hmmm... by Ted Foolery? Any relationship to "Tom?" Perhaps I'm just naturally suspicious, but a name like that....tomorrow's date...do the math....

EDIT: Whoops! Open mouth, insert foot. In small print on the mock-up label was this address:

Awesome! Looks like Lunar Lander with touches of Gravitar. And his website says he has another O2 game in development.

This fellow Ted doesn't know it yet, but he's just made a new best friend!

Planet Lander is news to me as well. That label is fantastic!

I really wish I wasn't at work now so I could d/l the ROM and try it out...

Are there any screenshots anywhere? I'd love to get a look at this game. It's too bad the O^2 gets such little homebrew lovin'.

From the tedfoolery web link I posted above, I found this screenshot. (Apologies to Ted for the breach of etiquette for grabbing images from his site. But I think folks here would like to see what he's put together. Damn nice!)

That craggy landscape is quite a feat on the O2, for those who don't know.

    That's a pretty natural assumption

Thanks for his webpage link, going to try out the rom demo right now.

I also just ordered KTAA from Packrat and they do indeed rock!

Thanks for the info, PDF. This comes as a surprise to me as well. However, I'm rather glad that someone else has picked up programming new games for the O2! It's about time!

But y'know what'll rock even more than playing these homebrews on the Odyssey 2? Playing them on the Odyssey 3. Anyone else read about this next-gen console? No more membrane keyboard, real live computer capabilities, maybe even a 300 baud modem, and dig those groovy background graphics that it adds to the old O2 games! This'll be the one that blows all the others away. Odyssey 3 is gonna rule over 'em all.

That was implemented into the Philips G7400 which is not that rare in Europe. The other new O2 homebrew (KTAA) supports those background graphics.
