Retro games at work

This of course excludes people who work in video game stores. For the rest of us I find it to be a nice treat to see retro video games at work. I work in film production and this is where I've seen them.

At the telecine lab (film transfer). They had a Sega Genesis hooked up in the lounge. I didn't get the chance to look at their games but someone was playing Sonic

At the editing suite. They had a Genesis, Super Nintendo, and a Turbo Graphics. Nobody was playing them but I saw them neatly arranged under the TV in the lounge.

In my office of course although this doesn't really count since my office is home. I have my Super Nintendo hooked up next to my desk so when I have to wait for things to render I can play a quick game of Pilotwings.

That would be cool to have an nes hooked up at work. I dont have a job but if someone worked at mcdonalds, it would be nice to take a break from flipping those diegusting quarter pound meats at mcdonalds and play a little burgertime. If your manager yells, just say it helps your skills.

Back in the early to mid 90's, I saw a few McDonald's locations that had Neo-Geo arcade machines. I wonder how many employees would try it out during breaks, or when the stores first got them in out of curiosity.

As for the main subject, I remember a friend of mine mentioning that her office had a PSX hooked up in the break room.

when i was 16 we had a few arcade machines at the pizza place. one of them was xmen vs. street fighter (or capcom vs. marvel or whatever the first one(s) was)...we used to play the hell out of it on break and after work (and sometimes while on the clock that was when games were starting to be .50 or .75 to play and this one was only a quarter (or maybe a quarter to continue i don't remember exactly, but still cheap)

On no-news-day holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, where we're all stuck at work anyway, I tend to bring in a PS1, maybe even a couple of 'em, some decent joysticks, and some good clean retro fun to work, and invite folks to come while away their downtime. I'm amazed, sometimes, by how few people actually take me up on it. Guess I'm not bringing anything hip enough.

I know of a McDonald's that STILL has those N64s in it. Kind of goes against everything when you think of greasy hands touching controllers.
