Default PS2 help for a friend

Looking for some games for a friend of mine for his new PS2

Games HAVE to be 2-player cooperative, that part is a must. It's ok if they are hard, but not so ridiculous to be unfinishable.

He and his wife prefer Racing, Beat 'Em Ups (Double Dragon style), and Contra style games...

Of course, and ideas would be more than welcome

Midnight Club 2 for racing. And Timesplitters 2 might be too different but it's probably the best PS2 multiplayer game.

A great and annoying Co-Op game that springs to mind is
The Adventures Of Cookie & Cream. If you dont hate your loved one yet, give it time, when they dont act fast enough and get you killed 30 or 40 times...in the same spot. Me and the Ex would almost kill each other playing this game. Great stressful co-op madness.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

    WipeOut Fusion
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution or Soul Calibur II
    Baldur's Gate/II
    Champions of Norrath
    Gauntlet: Dark Legacy

If they like the classics at all, Activision Anthology & Midway Arcade Treasures are "must-haves".

Also, if they like game shows, Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune are $15 this week at TRU. They're how I got my wife to play- & she beat my @$$ tonight in both!

Querjek, completely forgot about that game...that'll be perfect, his wife loves Contra...and the Sims. Games like the Gauntlet one may be right on track as well...

And they may not like game shows, but I do...thanks for the tip RJ!!

ALso, I forgot to ask, but are any of these games in the $25 under range yet??

I really don't keep track of the newer games as closely as I used to...anytime I buy a game for the current gen...it's usually a $20 price drop impulse buy, or I got hopelessly addicted to the demo. I don't read any mags, so I don't have any clue anymore...

You can find my suggestions (except SC II, BG: DA II & CoN) for under $25- I did! (actually I paid $24.90 for CoN w/ tradeins & 10% discount)

BTW, scoot- those TRU prices were this PAST week, not the upcoming week- but you still have all day tomorrow!
