Well, this cinches the rumor then.
I don't see a big rush though. Anyone think they'll really "Sell out" here? I'd onlyget the Zelda, though. Then the US SMB to go with my Japanese SMB. Other than that, meh for now.
(I hope they're available everywhere and not just GS and EB. I'd love these to show up at Kmart. 10% Discount. Put some aside for when they go on Clearance. Piece of cake collecting entire set.
I think it's neat they used the original font on the GBA box and the original artwork. But I'm disappointed in how unworthy our US versions are to the Japanese packaging. NOJ goes all out whereas NOA just puts them out. Or something. Whatever. Plus, the Zelda box disappoints. Black? It's SUPPOSED to be GOLD. And some of the choices of games still suck. Where's a nice Kid Icarus? Balloon Fight? Other NES games that made the NES what it is. Popeye!???
Mixed feelings. Good collectors item. Will definately look into the whole set. $160 for all the games. $100 for the system. A whole set for $260+Tax.
The box is pretty cool...but I still love the Japanese version infinately better. I want one, but I think I will hold off for a little while.
I'll just wait and buy one when they come out. I can't imagine they'll sell out with such mixed feelings on em.

Don't expect to see Popeye re-released anytime soon. I doubt that Nintendo still holds the licenced rights for the videogame. And paying King Features Syndicates for the licence would be too costly for a one-shot game...
The only way I see Nintendo doing this would be by modifying the sprites of the game and changing the title (but then, no one would buy it, as they wouldn't know that it's actually Popeye).
I cant wait to get one. I think it actually has a cool look to it.

Cant wait. This will be my first hand held buy since the original Gameboy.
And all of those games are in my basket for sure

You will not be forgotten.
Id get one if I had extra money. The games are 20 bucks. Its cheap but not cheap. Its cheap for a new gameboy advance game. But the same things are for nes and are worth 1-5 bucks. It would just seem like I got extremely ripped off if I bought a smb1 games for 20 bucks.

I'm definetly ordering one, my little brother's tired of me stealing his SP.
I'm getting one too, however I'm not sure if I'm going to get any of the games. I have pretty much all of them for NES anyway.
Hmm $ 100,- is relative cheap, to bad i can't take the guess to pre-order one as i have to save money for my vacation but hopefully they are not so limited so i can pick one up later
I am not into handhelds or portable gaming. BUT, I will probably get this. It looks so friggin cool.
I dunno...I think it looks both cheap and silly. The Famicom one looks MUCH better IMHO - simply because they used the color scheme rather than sticking what appears to be a sticker over a gray gameboy.
The nes was gray you know.Originally Posted by StrychNiNE

Seconded
One of these days Nintendo's gotta release a "20th Anniversary GameBoy Classic GameBoy (advance 3 etc.)"
I don't get why anybody would bother buying the SMB cart from this set. Why not get SMB DX for gameboy color? I'm sure the graphics are virtually identical, and this one had extra cool stuff added. Plus, it's probably cheaper.
Yes, it would be better to just buy a used copy of SMB DX, but those almost always command high prices if you can even find one, at places that sell used games.Originally Posted by WiseSalesman
IMO, I would buy an SMB DX cart than the GBA re-issue which supposedly doesn't have any enhancements.
Nintendo is just milking this whole "nostalgic 20th anniversary thingie" for what it's worth.
Even though I already have a Cobalt Blue GBA SP, I'll consider buying the NES Controller styled one, but I'll have to see it up close before I decide to buy one.

It would be 10 times cooler if it was designed like the toaster. It could ahve the ridges going across the top, and a little flap were teh carts go in. I would pay an extra 50 bucks if they made it like that. That would be awsome.

I imagine the viewing area would be greater on the GBA port. Personally I think the only game remotely worth 20 bucks would be the Zelda cart but that's strictly in terms of replay value. I won't be getting any of these. I bet if copies don't sell fast enough there will be markdowns to 15, 10 bucks a pop, and that would be interesting.Originally Posted by WiseSalesman
I wonder if the NES design will be silkscreened and if it will be durable. Anybody notice if their SP's metallic coating has started to flake/rub off yet?
Um...I know. I'm complaining about the sticker. Stickers are ghetto.Originally Posted by kai123
