Yes please.
I know it's out there. Now someone point me to it this minute!

OK then. Maybe in a few minutes from now!

Well, you could get a DC Game Boy emulator, and then use the Game Boy interpreter, I suppose.

Um, maybe I wasn't specific enough.
I'm referring to the emulation of Infocom classics like Zork and Wishbringer. Using the DC keyboard you can play the games as you would on a PC.
Anyone?
Here is what I was referring to. I don't know of any actual Z interpreter for the DC, but this could work.
(Of course, the Game Boy emulator - DCGNUboy or somesuch - would have to support keyboard input, which is unlikely, but not impossible.)
Oh, wait. Just ignore my babbling and get Frotz DC.

AHA! That's the one I was talking about. Thanks, Jorpho! :multi:
here's the one that came to my mind from joe's request.

Frotz Infocom Interpreter by c99kode
Last release: Release 2 (February 23rd, 2002)
Info:The Infocom interpreter allows you to play text based classics such as Zork and Adventure. There are also many other Interactive Fiction titles available around the web.
What's new in release 2:
* New color scheme
* No more freezing with Sega keyboards
* File selector can handle 1024 files and can be controlled with the keyboard
* Text in the right column is no longer cut off
* Switched to using the TA, so things scroll slightly faster

Thanks again!
So the next question: I've GOT all of the Infocom games in PC format. Do I need to do anything special to them to 'prep' them for the emulator or do I just burn 'em all onto a CD?
I'm assuming that someone's already tried this out, of course.
This has been offered to me a couple of times via IRC but I never bit. (since I play infocom games on my pc via the excellent APPLEWIN, which at full screen, miraculously turns my hi powered pc into an Apple II w/ a monochrome green monitor)
But I digress. Joe I might be able to find an burnable image for infocom games via Frotz on the DC. Give me a few and I'll look into it.
I haven't messed with it yet... I just got sarien working, and still need to get dreamsnes working properly before I mess with something new. From what I'm seeing in the frost files themselves, the documentation and example screenshots from the above sites, it seems that the game files have been packaged in a .z5 file. I don't know if this is compressed or what, but the zork_1.z5 is only 128k. I would like to know more about creating my own z5's if anyone has any information. The boob and frotz sites don't have much info.
:edit: just came upon this link
http://www.la.utexas.edu/~pdl/zmach/ZCatHow.htm
Now I'm even more confused. I need to find an exe to z5 converter, or do you have to compile into ?
Well, the actual interactive fiction module design program can be obtained from http://www.inform-fiction.org/. That's probably not what you're looking for, though.
I imagine it couldn't be too hard to look at a few z5 files with a hex editor, see what bytes they have in common in their headers, and search the EXE file appropriately. Or maybe something here will do it.
