    Default Atari 2600 Prototype??? Looping???

I was at goodwill and purchased a atari 2600 system along with a bunch of games. There was a game in there that I have never seen before called "Looping" Everywhere I have checked, it says that it was never released and a prototype. It looks like a regular cartridge with a normal label ect ect, but I was wondering about these prototypes for atari. I know nintendo ones have generic labels with no graphics, but this cart looks like a normal cart. Does anyone have any info on atari prototypes if they were made with normal labels? Any Idea how much this thing is worth? Thanks Alot!

Are you sure it isn't a Colecovision game? Those usually look like atari carts, and are easily confused.

    Hi Necrosaro,

It sounds like you've found something absolutely tragic - someone got Looping from CGE Services and then had to dump it and the console at a Goodwil store! A limited run (100? 200? 500?) of nicely-tricked-out Looping carts was produced for release at last year's Classic Gaming Expo, complete with a dandy box and an authentic manual, and that sounds like what you have here. Any way you can take a picture of the cart?

That's really sad. Looping was the only CGE Services cart I picked up last fall, and it's a load of fun. Can't imagine someone getting rid of it unless circumstances forced them to. That's why I'd classify it as "tragic."

It's not as fancy as the Colecovision version, but it's still pretty good. I think there are still copies available at http://www.cgexpo.com - check the "merchandise" area.
