Default Super Nintendo Game Genie Experience

After giving the game genie a really good cleaning. Dad and I found some pliers to break off the tabs. After a while we nearly got the tabs off. We tried fitting some games in The games fit in on one side but not the other. We decided on drilling the last couple of plastic pieces off. Dad went to get the drill while I continued to get the plastic bits off. By the time my dad came upstairs with the drill, I was able to fit my Super Nintendo games into the slot.

I randomly put in a code for the Secret of Mana and all of the characters had about 500 hit points apiece.

Now I have to look for the Codebook.

I used a pair of pliers to take of the tabs for my Japanese games.

For all your code creation needs, check out this document:

I was able to create about 80 codes for Super Castlevania IV with this guide, some with some really neat effects.

What games were you trying out? I know some games had several versions.

It could be the Super NES. After Galoob made the SNES Game Genie didn't Nintendo redo some internal stuff so it would be incompatible with the Game Genie, which just led to Galoob to make another Game Genie version and so-on. I remember I bought a used SNES that didn't take to my Game Genie. I just went to Funcoland, this was years ago, to exchange it for another. They went through their SNES's until they found one that worked with Game Genie codes for Doom. They were pretty nice back then.

How did you manage to find a way to play Doom on a Game Genie? I thought that all Super FX games were unplayable with the GG.

Yeah! I would like to know how too.

Though the DOOM on the SNES is one of the worst ports ever made, I wouldn't mind infinite lives and energy in Starfox or something.

I know how to modify the game genie to make it work (the document is on the same site as the GG code guide), but it requires far more work than I'm willing to do.

Really? I heard about that for Star Fox but not about Doom. My Game Genie and Doom are both normal, as far as I can tell. The Game Genie model number is 7353 with an engraved number on the back 7462RF. The Doom cartridge model number is SNS-006 (SNS-AD8E-USA) and an engraved printing (on plastic area opposite of connecter tabs) WF(A-16 and WB-16. It's the only Super FX game I have and I wouldn't doubt other games with the extra side connector tabs wouldn't work. Since there were Game Genie codes for Doom I never thought otherwise (that it shouldn't work). My copy of Doom works with the Game Genie and its codes.
Oh, almost forgot. My SNES has a sticker under it that says UN 10949552.
