Default I found boxed Intellivision titles today - question?

    Hi guys,

I happened to walk into a church charity store today to ask if they had any old Nintendo or Sega stuff. The guy at the counter said, "The only thing we have like that is Intellivision." So, he pointed in the general direction, and what I found were about 10 or so Intellivision games all boxed (didn't check for instructions). The boxes were in good condition. Space Battle was one of the games I remember, only 2 were sports, I think. This place doesn't even look like a thrift store, so I'm almost certain they'll still be there in an hour.

My question is, Should I even bother picking these up? The guy wants $1 each for these. They don't have a system there, so I probably won't play these anytime soon. Right now, I'm in a next-gen kind of mode. Also, my trade box is overful as it is, and I don't want these things just sitting around. Anyway, I can buy them up when I drop the taxes in the mail today. What do you guys think? And don't say Ebay...

If you don't want to play them, don't bother. $1 is a good price and they're good games, but they're SUPER common. You'd have a tough time giving them away.
Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.

Well, there may have been rare games at this shop, but I wouldn't know because I don't own a DP Guide. (Don't all blast me at once!) I wasn't alive in the Inty heyday, so I don't have much of an attachment to the system.

I guess I'm just thinking that it's easier to buy Intellivision Lives for my PS2 or my Xbox than to have these things sitting around collecting dust. MY NES and SNES are here for nostalgia's sake, and my Genesis gets played whenever I can find new carts, but for the most part, they sit in their crate and get wiped down once a week.

Look for reviews of the games you bought and then decide if you want to play them...that's the only real way you'll know if letting them go is something you'll regret later, assuming Inty carts don't untertake an exodus from the planet enmasse

Personally, through my own personal experience....ANY boxed game for ANY system no matter HOW common it is is worth 1.00. Heck...if you don't want em, pick em up for me and I'll give you 1.00 each plus pay for you to ship them to me. I'm having a hard enough time as it is finding Intellivision games.

I remember getting a good lot of INTV games boxed at a yard sale and selling / trading them well. They weren't all that rare either, INTV games especially boxed seem hard to find in the wild, I'd say snag 'em.

However, they aren't as hard to find boxed as, say, TG-16 games tho

Yes. Especially if the boxes are in good condition. I say grab them.

I'd agree with that, but he has no Intellivision...he'll get the games cheaper than the Inty which can't be a bad thing, but these little things add up. I wouldn't pass it up since games are games, but I also realize that the little purchases keep the big purchases I'm interested in making farther away and harder to attain.

    Intellivision Lives instead?

Spoken like someone who's never used the Inty controller. I'm not picking on you! It's just that Inty emulation can't be done. If the controller in your hand can't take an inlay, and doesn't have 12 buttons on the top alone, you can't play 3/4 of the games.

If they are all common, and you don't want to bother with them for trade bait, leave'em I guess. As trade bait you could likely get what you spent out of them in trade, at least. If a rare happened to be in there, you could get lucky.

If they want $1 per game you should grab them. Someone on this board or elsewhere will probably take them if you don't want to play with it or keep it for your collection.
Oh eBay! you are such a pain, I am addicted to you like crack cocaine. You offer things I cannot find in stores,You are the pimp, and we are all your whores.

I'd buy them from you too. If it was me, I'd have bought them anyway... just like Cmosfm. We seem to think alike on this issue.

I would have bought them too but try to save a little money! If he doesnt take your lower offer then just get them for a buck each. They are boxed for a buck each. Thats nice

i agree, but the PC version of Intellivision Lives is excellent. The number pad makes a great substitue for the intv keypad.
